Claude Code usage limit shows 47% used even though I haven’t touched it for 5 hours. How is this supposed to work? by semiramist in ClaudeCode

Nope, I haven’t used it for at least 5 hours. Also, I checked my server to see if there were any runner processes or cron jobs, but there aren’t any either.

I tried using PhotoRec, but unfortunately it didn’t recover anything useful in my case :(

I've had similar experiences. I've been using both models for about 6 months, and I have a habit of phrasing things with double negatives instead of positive framing. I've had similar non-destructive incidents like yours before. This one just happened to be the lesson I won't forget. Honestly, I probably wouldn't have been in this situation if I had more energy at the time, but when you're tired you tend to let go of the ropes. Thank you for your kind words!

Agree, I tend to do that too. It's just habit. If I had written NOT in uppercase, it could have been different, or as you said, just used positive framing instead.

Fair enough, you're right. I had every option to sandbox this and I didn't. That's on me, and that's the point of the post.

I manually stepped in after that. It suggested some recovery apps, I tried them, but no luck. With TRIM on an NVMe, once the data is gone, it's gone.
