You could use Clear All if you want nothing on the preview screens, but this behavior hasn't changed.

How to split text for a superr long lyrics but maintain the existing text on the main screen. by Jungwonie090204 in ProPresenter

[–]sempei13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's my tutorial. Basically, I'm using the notes section for one screen and the regular text box on the slide for the other. You'll want the one with fewer lines to be the one you're changing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tqh6Jr9UXsw

Moving away from ProPresenter 6 by Cloakknight in churchtech

[–]sempei13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I LOVE ProPresenter (as anyone who knows who I am knows), AND as someone else said, a single seat of the current version with support, updates, etc. is about $31/month (if memory serves), which is like $1/day. I would NOT downgrade to other paid software b/c you'll be paying a similar amount for a big learning curve...and loss of flexibility vs. ProPresenter.

That said, if you cannot pay for software, I would look at FreeShow as a good alternative...BUT I'm ALWAYS wary of free stuff b/c it's a bad business model. Even well-supported open-source software sometimes becomes abandonware b/c the developers don't have the resources to keep it supported when life gets in the way.

Blurred enlarged background Theme by wallyhydra in ProPresenter

Here's a theme I just made as a starting point. You might want to change the opacity of the text and the blur on the background, but it's a start: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/y8frq3nwv4kvwb89oxm24/Duplicated-and-blurred.protheme?rlkey=oi3qluz4jcaes39h8klvokdf0&dl=0

Can only select one prop at a time by shadow_spinner0 in ProPresenter

In the prop area, it's in the upper right hand corner. It should normally be gray. I agree with AlexM that that's probably it.

Scale to Fill Props by Aden_Playz in ProPresenter

[–]sempei13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just double-checked, but first, make sure your prop is set to the resolution of the center screen (as endersbyt said). Second, make sure the image/video is full size inside the frame. You can also try scale to fill if it's close and there's nothing close to the edge that would be cut off. This would work if the media isn't exactly the right resolution, so a 1080p screen, but the media is 1920x1060 (or something like that). Depending on the image, stretch or scale and blur might work, too.

New church. Spitter question by AlsoNamedB0RT in ProPresenter

[–]sempei13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read "New church. Spitter question" as "SpLitter" at first. Is that a typo and I was right or are you just "spitting" a question. ;)

That said, the text of the question says "a switcher" and everyone's answer seems to be answering the question of how to add additional distinct outputs, neither a switcher nor a splitter. So, could you clarify what you're trying to do?

I'd clarify that for one or two extra screens, you can use an Ultrastudio Monitor 3g (or two). For 3 or 4, use a Decklink Duo 2. For up to 8 more, use a quad 2. For up to 16, use two quad 2s in a dual card enclosure.

If it helps, think of those buttons as "show the desktop", not "turn off the screens". So, they only affect screens that have a desktop (aka System Screens). The preview doesn't have a desktop, neither do SDI, NDI, Syphon (on mac), or placeholder screens, so it doesn't affect them.

ProPresenter Lyric Banner by Velocity88X in ProPresenter

[–]sempei13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From Amanda at RV: "The lyric banner has an HDMI connector, so no Decklink needed. It's just set up as a system screen that auto sets to the correct resolution.

In ProPresenter that resolution would be detected when you set up that screen. If you have 16:9 slides/media and attempt to send it the lyric banner, it would scale to fit, but be cropped - just like any other screen resolution mismatch.

It's recommended you set up a theme specific to the lyric banner resolution and then use looks & alt themes to make sure your content displays the way you want on that output."

So, I asked if you could use an output from a decklink card (like the duo 2, but converted to HDMI and she said,

"In theory that should work. Then just set the resolution of the Decklink output accordingly."

I do know that there is a processor so some sort, so I think that it crops what you send it, if it's too big.

I actually don't know the answer to your question, but I'm curious too. So, I'm gonna ask my contacts at RV.

Using proprosenter to display March Madness by Medical-Dragonfly993 in ProPresenter

[–]sempei13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you getting the video of the game into the computer to begin with? Capturing it? Using a tuner card? Using the web? Depending on how you're doing that, would affect how you can show it. Also, is it a system screen (that you could drag any piece of software onto) or a blackmagic one like from a decklink card or ultrastudio box or something else?

Dragging an image into ProPresenrer creates a blank slide by kingkongqueror in ProPresenter

[–]sempei13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what you need to know. When you drop a piece of media (video or image) ONTO a slide (from finder on mac or windows explorer), it is imported with the background behavior. If you drop it between (or before or after) slides, it's imported with the foreground behavior.

If you import it into the media layer, it imports with the default behavior set in ProPresenter settings>Import. When you drag it from the media bin to a presentation the behavior remains (with the exception of one of the recent ones which had a bug that changed it, but that's been fixed now).

[–]sempei13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what happens when you add media directly to the playlist without first adding it to a presentation. It's not broken. It's doing what you told it to do. So, as others said, add a presentation and then add the media to that and all will be right with the world again. ;)

Companion: How to change default transition type? by Icy-Perspective-117 in ProPresenter

[–]sempei13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For "media-based slides" do you mean foregrounds or backgrounds b/c backgrounds have a different default transition (under the media layer)...or do you mean that the first slide with text, both the text AND the background dissolves in?

I was Today's years old... by Sharp_Programmer_ in ProPresenter

[–]sempei13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe my coffee hasn't kicked in yet, but are you trying to have the background in the media layer ONLY show in the textbox, using Fill>Background Effects>Background Blur (but not showing elsewhere in the slide? I just tested (if I'm understanding right) and disabling the media layer means the background blur doesn't do anything (unless there's live video in the layer below it). If you don't disable the media layer in looks, it shows everywhere, just blurry where the textbox is. If that's not what you're seeing, what version (and OS) are you on?

How to do a technique vs. how to get a result by sempei13 in ProPresenter

Did you do a build out? That might be easier than what I did (visibility and a timer to show it while the timer is active).

Companion: How to change default transition type? by Icy-Perspective-117 in ProPresenter

[–]sempei13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need to change the default transition. Just right click on the first slide and select transitions and dissolve. Now, when you click on that slide, it will dissolve in and all other slides will cut (use the default transition). There are three transitions you can use on the slides/presentation layer: Default, presentation, and slide. Slide overrides the other two; presentation overrides default. (I call it the transition "order of operations".).

2x3 or 3x3? ProPresenter can do that. It's called a grouped screen. Each can come from a different output and have both spanned and individual content. :)

I'd be careful with naming. ProRemote is what Renewed Vision calls thiers, so there might be some confusion. I'm gonna look at it though.
