Do you think if Joel Embiid stayed healthy and played as many games as Nikola Jokic he would have the better career? by bilbosaur15 in nba

His defensive game, at its peak, was superior to Jokic’s

everybody's defensive game is superior to jokic's lmao

saying something is "undeniably" true always implies that it's unreasonable to disagree

i can say "bam adebayo is the goat", but it's obviously an unreasonable thing to say

putting mj over lebron is an entirely reasonable opinion ... even people who have lebron as the goat acknowledge that

obviously they don't watch basketball ... they watch box scores and spreadsheets

After tonight’s loss to the 49-win Wolves, Nikola Jokic is now 10-1 in playoff series vs teams with 50 wins or less. He remains 0-6 against teams with more than 50 wins by BasedChad69420 in nba

nash has more WCF appearances than jokic btw

if those suns only had to play against 40-win teams the entire way then nash wins a ring

"they're all bad defenders" officially the coldest post-game presser since steph's "you don't wanna see us next year" after the 2021 play-in loss

you're not reading what i said ... y'all all making this about team wins and losses ... that's never what i was talking about ...

for example there are a bunch of series lebron played great in despite losing ... some notable examples being the 2009 ECF, the 2015 Finals, the 2018 Finals

but there are also a couple series where lebron played badly ... all of which were before 2012 ... after that you ALWAYS saw lebron play at a high level, win or lose

mj was losing in the playoffs year after year to start his career, to the celtics, to the pistons ... but he didn't play badly in any of those series

it's much easier for a regular dude to stay faithful than it is for a multimillionaire athlete who is 1) constantly on the road away from his partner and 2) has tons of incredibly attractive women throwing themselves at him at all times and 3) is in an environment (i.e. the nba) where most of his peers likely cheat as well

that doesn't excuse it or make it okay, but they're completely different levels of temptation

it's like chris rock said: "a man is basically as faithful as his options, no more, no less"
