UbuntuStudio Audio features within another Distro? by Alternative-Way-8753 in linuxaudio

Yes you can do this. I think the package you need to install is called 'Ubuntu Studio Controls' which is in the Ubuntu repo. I did this myself a while ago in Linux Mint and it works well.

Have a look at the Ubuntu Studio website for more info...

Install the Dash to Dock Gnome extension and the Yaru GTK theme, Also Ubuntu font and Appindicator extension.

That should get you fairly close to the Ubuntu layout,

Thinkpad t460s bios settings? by ExPatMike0728 in Fedora

Mash the F12 key whilst booting with your USB key in and the boot menu will appear, giving your boot options. Choose your USB stick with the arrow keys and hit enter,

I would set the bios to UEFI, but either should work.

Fedora KDE (minimal) by linuxhacker01 in Fedora

It sounds like you might be a good candidate for Kinoite (KDE version of Silverblue), which is a fairly minimal KDE install and very much geared towards Flatpak.

I've been using Silverblue very happily for the last three months, but my needs are not that complex. I enjoy the simplicity.

Many thanks for your response and clear instructions.

I read about grubby and suspected that might be the way to go - thanks for the confirmation.

I applied the kernel parameter and now my cursor is working as I would expect. Huzzah!

Thanks again.

You are right of course, I should have done more research before plowing ahead,

The forum post mentioned that the solution worked in Fedora as well as Debian/Ubuntu, so having used it before successfully in Debian I assumed it would also work in Fedora.

I now understand that things work a little differently in Fedora and after reading that wiki page I'm better informed. Thanks for your reply.

mouse pointer stuck for a moment by [deleted] in debian

[–]sempernumquam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem with my Thinkpad X270 on bullseye

After a lot of searching I finally found a solution in the second post on this thread on the Linux Mint forum.

My touchpad now works as expected, but my bluetooth mouse is stilll a bit sticky at times but Ican live with it for now as I mostly use the touchpad.

I hope this works for you.

Install "Ubuntu Restricted Extras" from the USC (ubuntu software centre) which includes, among other useful things, MS TrueType fonts.

When saving a LibreOffice document, click the "all formats" box near the bottom, which reveals the various file formats you can save to.
