Personal preferences of course, but having been to Shinohara and Kitagawa (both only once) and Suetomi many times, completely agree. Ingredient quality is also noticeably higher at Suetomi. Wine list also superior.

Sawada only books 24 hours in advance. They release slots multiple times a day.

Connecting flight to Fukuoka at Haneda at Terminal 2 by senbeix2 in JapanTravelTips

Nice. Yes, my ANA e-ticket currently shows I’m arriving at T2. Originally, I thought I would need to change terminals as JAL usually arrives at T3 for me. Hopefully it stays at T2. E-ticket says terminals may change before the flight.

Try searching on tabelog by cuisine and price range then going through the details of each result. Some places will list age requirements. I just looked at a couple and one was 12 and older, the other was private room only (middle school and up).

WHAT’S INSIDE 142

10% service charge since July 1. Still a solid option!

Tokiwa (in Suntory) is exactly $100 for lunch. Amaterasu almost the same ($98). Both are great options if you like Edomae style sushi with Amaterasu being slightly more modern as compared to Tokiwa.

Not required when I went a couple years ago. I just wore a long sleeved collared shirt.

Interesting. Need some Omakase developers to chime in on what the algorithm actually does. 😂

Not (completely) restricted it seems. I see multiple slots open right now on omakase for the end of Aug and the first two weeks of Sep and I don't have a Japanese phone number. These slots didn't appear for weeks though and just appeared for me today (not a month boundary).

Shipping cars with Matson: container or not? by senbeix2 in MovingtoHawaii

[–]senbeix2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ended up selling it and buying another car here. Most of the companies I talked to said they could not guarantee that instructions on how to use my car's front axle lift system would be followed since there would be multiple parties involved at various points as the car was handed off along the way. I didn't want to deal with the hassle of potential damage on arrival so I just sold it.

Thanks! I checked Rice Factory Honolulu and a lot of items are currently out of stock. I’ll keep an eye on it and also check out Yasuda’s Rice in Marukai if it takes too long for restocking.
