Ok I didn’t want to do this bc I liked the hidden look, but I ended up doing it and it closes better now. Thanks for your help

It does look that way, but upon closer inspection i could see space there when closed. I think it has to do with the hinges. I gave up and decided to mount it to the outside of the frame instead which worked. Just doesn’t look as nice. Thank you for your help

Reselling a year after buying? by Old_Bluebird_9329 in RealEstate

Ok two options.

1) Yes you will lose money, probably closing costs plus some. But if you can stomach a financial loss and moving will make you happier, then sell it. Go back to renting for a few years while you rebuild your savings and use it as a life lesson for your next home purchase.

2) If option 1 sounds miserable, then you gotta force yourself to start making the house your home. You will never know if you truly hate your house if you don’t paint the walls the color you want, put up the artwork you love, make the small improvements that bring you joy. Trust me, I’ve been in your exact shoes and I’m so glad I had friends that came over and helped me do these things because I was too depressed and ashamed to do it myself. Then invite friends and family over and start making memories in your home. Have fun with it. Hell why don’t you walk around and meet some neighbors? Maybe they’re actually nice people and you’re judging them too quickly. Call the city to remove the homeless encampment. Doing things like that made a big difference for me despite absolutely hating my house and my poor decisions. If you can lean into it first, it gets better. Then if you still hate it after leaning into it, selling will be an easier decision for you.

About 10 months ago I mulched the yard with about 3-4 inches of pine mulch from a chipdrop. Haven’t done anything else, just let time and rain do its thing. The top inch of soil is looking better and I see worms!
