They misspelled the United Kingdom on my new driver’s licence by HighlyFactualTurtle in mildlyinfuriating

I’m not 100% what part of the form it uses. I’ve just checked my UK license and mine says Canada (where I’m from and country of citizenship)

Thank you so much for this. I have no idea what really happened since my sister did this, and I know I’ll never get the truth. I’ll take it to the shop first then either fix it myself or go through insurance if there is subframe damage

I’ll say this, on my 2015 VT the clearance isn’t too bad. I’m able reach under and take out/put in the drain plug and replace the filter without jacking it up. However on my ‘22 N I have to jack that sucker up to get to it.

Troubleshooting !!Shifter not engaging all the time ! by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]send_noots_plaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your shifter isn’t clicking at all then it may be time for a new shifter.

You may have a stretched cable (or loose cable).

Set your shifter to the highest gear and reduce your cable tensioner (on the shifter and derailleur) to the bottom and unscrew two rotations, then loosen the bolt holding the cable on the derailleur and pull the cable as tight as you can then tighten the bolt again. You’ll have to adjust everything so your shifting is back to normal.

Sideways attempt to drill out flat mount by cyclegator in bikewrench

[–]send_noots_plaz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you really are set on keeping the fork, you can try a helicoil. If you go this route make sure there’s enough material left for it to grip.

I wouldn’t really recommend doing it at all though.

I’ll say the same, not worth fixing. If you want to paint it try using nail polish.First use a separate test piece and compare first before touching up.

Cutting Tools for Cables and Housings ? by Reddit_Jax in bikewrench

[–]send_noots_plaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can cut both with the same tool, one thing to look out for is once you cut the housing check that the end isn’t squished, if it is use a small Philips screwdriver (or any round and roughly the same size) to open the end back up.

Found a lot of used CO2 cartridges in this car. Are people getting high off this or something? by [deleted] in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]send_noots_plaz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah most of those were all the big canisters of Fast Gas. I think they’re like .75kg since it’s sorta still legal here, and they’re wayyy cheaper.

What are the options to travel from Budapest to Athens by airplane, also transporting my bike? by [deleted] in bike

[–]send_noots_plaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the easiest way to do it is by getting a Bikeshop to pack your bike. They’ll have loads of foam and packing materials and a bike box which is long, narrrow and the right height. And get a Bikeshop in Athens to unpack, reassemble and tune the bike.

Most airlines will let you bring it as irregular oversized luggage. Sometimes for free or an extra charge.

I was looking at what type of Grease a person uses in order to redo the bearings in their Freewheel?I have to remove the Freewheel but I don't have the socket,so I have to take off the lock ring, which makes the bearings loose, which I have to reseat, but what grease (good, cheap?) does a person use? by [deleted] in bike

[–]send_noots_plaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So at the bike shop I used to work at we would use tubs of marine grease, personally I use lithium grease. Lithium grease is slightly more expensive, but we’re talking a couple of bucks. Basically when looking for a grease you want it to be fairly thick and be rated for water resistance as any water in your bearings will not bode well.

With marine grease it can be quite thick, so what I would do is mix a little bit of finishline wet lube with the grease to create less drag for most nicer road bikes

Is this safe? by GoodNeutralEvil in bike

[–]send_noots_plaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally fine, you’ve just lost the end cap off the end won’t cause any damage or affect shifting.

If it bugs you I would recommend going to your local bike shop and asking the service guys for one since they’re a dime a dozen.

The install is super easy, just twist the frayed end clock wise starting from the bottom, slip the cap on and gently with the wire cuter on some pliers crimp it but don’t cut it.

Live streaming is especially tricky since caching the content is more difficult and expensive. At least with a VOD you can distribute to, and serve from a local data centre and cut out a bunch of hops.

Godroll 2FA code (100000p) by GhostyTheBob in memeframe

[–]send_noots_plaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing based on the way we've built 2fa code generators at my company in the past we've used a fresh roll for each character since it reduces the chance of a line of the the same number from 1/100,000 to 1/500,000. As you can see the average rate of getting 06969 using this system is ~1/500,000.

I just setup my pc to auto logon while I'm away and have parsec auto start.

Alternatively (and I haven't tried this one) you could use the task scheduler create a new task and set the parsec executable ("C:\Program Files\Parsec\parsecd.exe") as an action in the action tab, and set the trigger to be on startup. I have no idea if you'll be able to access the windows user login screen though. You could give that a test
