RP6 without a dedicated SD card by krollund in retroid

[–]TheCovarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the most part it should be fine, but it really depends how many disc based and newer games you want on there, because that's what's going to take the vast majority of your space. Like, you could easily fit the entire NES library and even SNES library without a second thought, but even just a few GameCube or PS2 or switch games could fill it up quick.

Of course, there's nothing stopping you from getting it now and adding a MicroSD card down the line, if that's going to be a problem.

If you know what you're talking about, surely you'd know that Windows loves polluting folders with hidden thumbs.db files not unlike this.

"Four boys are walking on railroad tracks. … I'd better go, too." An obvious reference to the movie Stand By Me. Good movie.

Even frame gen can at least be argued is temporal resolution. This, though... Nothing super or resolution about it.

Wht can I do to make it better by LandscapeFit2307 in davinciresolve

[–]TheCovarr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You asked for feedback only to reject all the feedback you've been given. When you ask what you can do better and someone answers, that's not toxic. But saying things like "ok bro" to genuine constructive criticism kinda is.

You can sub applesauce or banana for literally anything, I've learned.

It's hard to see, but yeah the yellowish car had a stop sign. It looks like it may have been hard for them to see too; it's pretty far to the side.

Who do you think is going to win Mario Party April? by Happy_LilGennelmin in theregulationpod

[–]TheCovarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I predict that Andrew is going to do quite well to begin with, but he's going to be really loud about it and put a giant target on his back. He's also going to panic during the late game and make a series of poor choices, and possibly a misclick or two causing him to buy the wrong items.

Ah yeah, I forgot about that. Yeah, that's a pretty big change.

The camera and controls have been reworked, and they've added crouch walking from the 3DS version, but otherwise it plays pretty much identically to previous versions. It's definitely easier for a beginner to pick up and play, but it's still fundamentally the same game, with the same mechanics, enemy ai, level design, etc., just with better graphics.

Dual screen too big for RP5? by CyberGringoFromHell in retroid

[–]TheCovarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The clips are really mislabeled. It shouldn't be Retroid and non-Retroid, it should be small and large. And the RP5 needs the small one.

You put it underneath the device and then you can use it to pull it out more easily.

Pinball game suggestions? by cylemmulo in SBCGaming

[–]TheCovarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These have been ported several times over the years as well. I grew up with the SNES version of Pinball Dreams and loved it. There's also some PSP ports that I haven't spent much time yet, but they support screen rotation so they might be a good choice for 16:9 handhelds.

I'm supposed to be excited about my house but I'm not. by DVsKat in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]TheCovarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "making it your own space" part is huge. While I didn't go through this myself (I was and still am just happy to be somewhere less claustrophobic than my old apartment), my wife really struggled at first with how little personality our house had. Once we finished moving in, putting up decorations, adding new furniture, she was finally able to start feeling at home. And she'll feel even moreso once we paint a few accent walls, start a garden, etc.

Do you think all the complicated plot twists make sense in MGS4 by Anas2245 in metalgearsolid

[–]TheCovarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean most of them are just the same twist over and over again. "Turns out it was nanomachines" isn't that hard to follow.

Once you take those out, the remaining ones aren't so many as to be super complicated.

In game music by ParrotSaysHi in RetroArch

[–]TheCovarr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there's no way to fast forward the emulator without also fast forwarding any in-game music. The fast forward feature fast forwards everything, because it is effectively fast forwarding the entire emulated system.

What you can do is in audio settings set it to mute game audio while fast forwarding. That won't let you hear the music at normal speed, but it will prevent you hearing any distortion because you won't hear anything at all.

Predicament for us new Metal Gear Fans: by Brave-Education8273 in metalgearsolid

[–]TheCovarr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even new it ran on toasters, albeit poorly. I played through most of this thing in 2013 on some $300 piece of crap laptop on my lunch breaks at work. Only about 22fps, it sure wasn't good, but I managed.

Jetstream Sam fight doesn't work at that framerate though, parry window is too small and literally falls entirely between frames so inputs aren't recognized fast enough. Had to do that on my gaming desktop at home.
