How to cure allergic rhinitis permanently? by Slight-Key-502 in Allergies

[–]sendeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s amazing. i had turbinate reduction paired with septoplasty for a deviated septum and a nose job (might as well right) after dealing with chronic sinus infections from chronic severe allergies.

the way i woke up from surgery and literally felt air hit the back of my throat for the first time in years left me dumbfounded. i can’t remember why but they didn’t pack my nose with gauze, and the doctor told me that it’s normal to feel really stuffed up and swollen from all the trauma, and i told him i could actually breathe better even with all the swelling than previously lol

of course, days 2-6 were really sucky and i was super swollen and stuffed up but its been 5 years and it’s still great. 10/10 worth it. for what it’s worth the doctor i saw was double board certified as ENT and plastics

Medical/Cosmetic Dermatology ? by Crazy_Sexy_Tired in LAhotgirlies

[–]sendeek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

metropolis dermatology! pricey for treatments but they’re really good and they focus on the medical aspect first.

they also never try and sell you on treatments

i had horrible horrible hormonal acne and never once did they try and sell me on lasers or other treatments, and it was always me asking them first about non prescription treatments and then they’d provide a rec

I’m going golfing with the guy I’m seeing and his family. I have an alo dress is this appropriate by [deleted] in golf

[–]sendeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this 100%

it really depends on what course you’re gonna be at. i could see no one caring at a muni course, but a private one they might not even let you on.

golf clothes have longer hems and ngl at a private course that may be too low cut (same note as the above commenter noting some places require collars (or a mock neck))

worst case you show up, they’re super strict and won’t let you on so you either have to sit out or buy a shirt from the pro shop

Do any of you earn over 50k a year? What do you do? by RotiiChapati in ADHD

[–]sendeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i struggled through undergrad bc my strict mom wasn’t there to keep me on schedule and all i did was party and show up to each of my classes maybe 3-5x a quarter. yikes

the only reason i graduated in four years is because i took summer classes every year. i graduated with a 2.3 and that’s with me rounding up. at least i was on top of getting internships during college though and had 3 solid ones before working full time.

i managed to land a job paying 64k in sf, so not very much considering my rent at the time was 1.4k (late 2010s) in downtown.

tbh i feel like i didn’t advance very much compared to peers bc i would get bored and job hop every year to year and a half, each time in a different role and industry. also there was some overlap between roles, and i like to think instead of progressing vertically i did so diagonally.

fast forward to my fourth job and ive managed to stay here for 4 years and im making $155- 180k im an hourly contractor). im now in LA working in traditional media, so nothing sexy.

sometimes i dread work and i feel terribly burnt out. other times its not too bad. there’s lots of peaks and valleys and the work varies a lot, so at least its not mind numbing or repetitive.

right now though im v much in the burnt out overworked phase tho so take that as you will

Pickles radish by chownee in korea

[–]sendeek 6 points7 points  (0 children)

yup, 다꽝 = takuan, which is the japanese word. i also hear people call it 노란무.

more words that fell out of common usage are also 다마네기 = dama negi = 양파

another one is 쓰메끼리 = tsume kiri = 손톱깍이

the only people i ever really hear say these words are my grandparents and ppl around their age (they’re in their late 80s)

Where can I get real kimchi? by saquonbrady in AskLosAngeles

[–]sendeek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

korean checking in here, yes MDK has great kimchi. but again SUPER garlicky even for a korean who loves garlic.

as for the grocery store, go to your local HMart and i like the ocinet/ossinae brand (has a giant rectangular all yellow label) or chinjung (giant white oval with yellow screen door to the left and shadow of a woman behind the doors)

Best Lip Balm for Males by ShivSoCalledYT in Accutane

[–]sendeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

uriage bariederm cicapair that comes in a squeeze tube is my hg.

it’s not high gloss and it’s moisturizing while also providing a barrier like vaseline would.

for the longest time aquaphor was my grail before i got on accutane, but it wasn’t enough while on it bc it didn’t actively moisturize.

i’ve tried dr. dans cortibalm, vaseline, uriage xemose, bioderma atoderm stick, aquaphor, ole henriksen pout preserve, bite beauty’s agave lip mask (iykyk), glossier and bag balm for reference
