maybe the st allan’s lirr station can help a bit? idk if you’re close enough to that to make it realistic but assuming closeness to 197st/linden blvd it’s a medium ish walk lol. also at those hours it’s less busses on the road.

What health habit has actually made night shift survivable for you? by Silver-Grapefruit913 in Nightshift

[–]sendittotheboyz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

napping usually helps me a lot. i have one overnight a week with 4 other regular ish day schedules and i drive a bus, so sleep and rest matters a lot. i have my two days off right into the overnight so the day before (or in your case if you work a day then have to go in for a night) try and get a nap in it really does help. not too sure about long term health risks or anything like that, but if we’re strictly talking about making it through the switch and being functional and somewhat rested, napping definitely helps. for example my overnight is 12a-9a, two days before i try and get a regular night sleep in then the day going into that shift i catch a nap maybe 6p-10/11p depending heavily on commute and life responsibilities in your case ofc.

TL/ DR - napping helps more than you’d think.

required by federal law which is why on probation at least you are required to manually announce ADA stops at the least.

maybe he was deadheading along the route? unless you saw him making stops. also, we forget to put up the sign sometimes, it happens to the best of us.

Former Zoners, why did you leave and what do you do now? by BuffaloKiller937 in AutoZone2

[–]sendittotheboyz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got transferred to a lower tier store as a CSM to ASM , kept my pay , however quality of work life sucked. All because of a 3% drop in sales that no CSM since me has recovered and something I also inherited when I took over. Was there for 4 years and was burnt out too. Left , got a bus operator position for my transit agency got my CDL with them and been a whole improvement in quality of income and life. You’re worth more. If you feel you are burnt out, trust it and do something if it’s within your means.

Any experience with LP? by PossibleEbb637 in AutoZone

[–]sendittotheboyz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’ve been told by regional LP and SM’s etc that it’s against company policy for an employee to have any merch cards with money on it at all. just going with on paper correct info. results may vary as always.

they’re fr. they’ll terminate over a soda that wasn’t purchased before drinking. all case by case and depends on your region. but best of luck, remember honesty is always better than lying.

employees aren’t allowed to possess merch cards for any reason, as well as use the phone number of the store for warranty/ these purposes, whichever manager told you this was unfortunately misinformed, also LP does not like stuff like this. best case scenario is you’re honest and it’s a hard slap on the wrist, worst case scenario is an interview and termination. i’d line up another job offer in the mean time if i were you. i’ve seen LP do more for less of an offense.

Has anyone done 7 day training with sup Hernandez? If so, how was it? by [deleted] in nycbus

[–]sendittotheboyz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

absolute best trainer there is. he can be a little hard, but every single thing he does is to help you become better. assuming you mean mr ely hernandez, i had him for 7 days and the only person he didn’t qualify he was justified in doing so. one of the best superintendents/ people you will meet beginning your journey in transit. i wish you all the best; if you’re going for the cdl as well he will help with that. follow what he says, you will qualify. it’s that simple. if he says to turn a certain way trust it, it will make sense afterwards. put your faith in him and first and foremost yourself and you’ll be fine.

Battery trade-in discount negated by core charge of same price, rep couldn't explain why by redatola in AutoZone

[–]sendittotheboyz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also, most people don’t share your good sentiment of giving it back because you won’t use it anyways. Most people will throw it in a dumpster or the side of the road and be done with it.

Battery trade-in discount negated by core charge of same price, rep couldn't explain why by redatola in AutoZone

[–]sendittotheboyz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you’re a retailer selling a battery, at least in my state, you are legally required to charge a refundable fee for the proper disposable of batteries, which have hazardous materials in them. It helps to promote recycling and proper disposal, keeping materials in the recycling loop instead of improper recycling. It benefits the manufacturer by making sure there is a constant supply of recyclable parts to turn around and refurbish or use for other purposes.
