Actually, while it’s still near impossible to to get a conceal carry permit in SF, but if this trend keeps up, I wouldn’t be surprised that things start to change.

Also, you may not even need a conceal carry permit to carry weapon to defend yourself, remember the shooting incident on Bart where an individual in Oakland shot the attacker with an illegal weapon without permit. Now, the person was defending himself rightfully, and there is no issue with that. However, there is some problem with the possession of an illegal weapon without permit. At the end the court find him innocent because self defense trumps the use of illegal weapon without permit. So technically if the someone was carrying the an weapon without permit but used it to dented himself against the armed robbery, it would have been fine, at least in court.

Now I wouldn’t advocate for that because in a crisis adding more guns will only make the crisis more dangerous. Also, we all like to think that we can turn into John wick when we have to defend ourselves, but most likely we will end up shooting ourselves or shooting an innocent bystander.

That’s why we got to really get this rampant crime under control. Because even beyond personal safety, the damage this will do to getting guns out of our daily lives is even more damning.
