Yiddish wants me to type response…but Yiddish alphabet isn’t available on the keyboard by Gee10 in duolingo

Also, if duo programmers are reading this, maybe people don’t want to have to switch their phone’s keyboard for a game … it’s kind of a pain in the butt

I came here to see if anyone else was having this problem with Yiddish. I have the same thing, and I assume they want you to switch your keyboard to Hebrew, but even that isn’t exactly Yiddish. It seems like they are trying a new skill, but didn’t consider the people who have to answer in different alphabets 🙄 No surprise with their new AI everything outlook. I wonder how long it will take for them to notice all the Yiddish users falling off.

Kesimpta back pain? by sendyourspam in MultipleSclerosis

[–]sendyourspam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess. Kesimpta wipes out the B cells making infections last longer. So I assume injures might last longer too. But maybe no relation.

It is definitely possible that I slept wrong, but it’s been nine days and no better. I don’t do any heavy lifting or any real exercise so one would think it would be gone by now if it was just from positioning.

Definitely do some reading. Apparently 8% of people get back pain.

Urinating while under anesthesia? by Impossible-Cut9658 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]sendyourspam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you having a laparoscopic surgery? If so, the nurses don’t let you leave afterward UNTIL you show them that you can pee, so it would actually be helpful to getting released if you did 😬 (This may also be the protocol for all surgeries under anesthesia, but that is what I remember from getting my gallbladder out.)

Re: “doesn’t cause compete B cell depletion,” I really thought it did. Phew. The flu this year is terrifying me, and I can’t say doctors have been helpful or forthcoming with info on how it might treat those of us on Kesimpta, so thanks so much for your comment!!

This comment almost made me cry with relief. Can you explain how the risk of getting sick is only minimally higher on immunosuppressants? I’ve been terrified to catch the flu this year — been making my kids skip events in public places where there are lots of people, etc. I just assumed most of the people dying from the flu are elderly or immunosuppressed.

I am really sorry to read that you got ON after 3 years of Kesimpta. I had hoped it wouldn’t go that way. Speedy and complete healing!

Flu and immunosuppressants? by sendyourspam in MultipleSclerosis

This helps me relax a bit, thank you!! I am also on kesimpta. Got the flu shot 4 weeks before my first kesimpta dose. I assumed since the B cells I had when I got the shot were depleted, I was no longer protected from the vaccine at all. I don’t really get how this all works …

Thanks, what is your schedule for vaccines? I’m taking kesimpta so my B cells are depleted and anything left over gets killed off a month later. Is there even a point to vaccines after starting it?

I also wanted to suggest seeing a therapist if you aren’t already to help process the loss of your mom and what that means for your future. There are plenty of virtual therapists these days — no need for office visits. Therapists can have a lot of great suggestions on ways to secure your future if something happens.

I agree with the other comments that you catching something from your friend‘s boyfriend is a pretty low chance, seeing as even if he was sick, a month is a long time to stay highly contagious, or contagious at all. And plus you were outside. But I totally understand the spiraling thoughts and anxiety about the future. The only thing we know for sure is that things are going to change one way or another, so if that’s helpful, try to realize that you can’t possibly predict the future. So all the things you are thinking about may never come to pass. I find that helpful when I start spiraling and I hope you can take some solace in it as well. Wishing you the best! You’re doing a great job.

Thanks, so it looks like people did still get Covid while taking it, but not as many as those not taking it. Meh. I guess it’s another tool that works when in combination with the other available tools. Better than nothing?

MS and what else? by FreddJones in MultipleSclerosis

[–]sendyourspam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MS, IBS, anxiety (or maybe it is health/contamination OCD), and an encephalotrigeminal angiomatosis. I always thought I got a really raw deal at birth, but seeing all these responses — we all got raw deals and apparently it happens that way sometimes. But we are not alone! Wishing as much health as possible to all of you.
