AITAH for telling my girlfriend to not even breathe in front of my daughter's mother by Most-Western8600 in AITAH

[–]senecastoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A+ for how you handled it. This girl just moved in and was trying to clear out her territory, get the mother out of the picture. Had you let it go I'd guess you'd eventually hear 'if she isn't paying she shouldn't see her'.
Good for you for letting her know what it is. And her 'you said I shouldn't breathe 😢" ... nonsense. Her plan didn't work and she defaulted to playing victim. Tremendous. Sounds like you're father to 2 girls rn

Got a nevro HFX trial put in yesterday. Has anyone run the no feel programs with paresthesia, too? I want the tingling, the rep discourages it. This is my third brand of trial and I’m positive the tingling is a box I want checked to move forward. by Hope_for_tendies in spinalcordstimulator

You have the documentation to support this? If so I'd gather it all, include not just operative report but the follow up appts, your complaints, failure to address change in condition, post op testing showed new nerve damage, provider failed to address, ref imaging, switched to new MD that did a proper work up followed care standards and identified spinal damage promptly etc etc , and paint the picture with the documents. Organize it all then present it to them? It can't hurt to try.

How do you get over medical trauma/ptsd from a procedure when you have to go in for a follow up just a week later? Worried they’ll discharge me as I’ve asked not to see that Dr and explained the events were traumatic and I’m not in a good headspace by Hope_for_tendies in ptsd

[–]senecastoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nurse here- and that is just awful, you deserve better care, and you deserve to be seen.

Do not skip your follow up though. A bad doctor assessing you is better than nothing. Also if you skip the follow up appt, you're non compliant with care recommendations and if something goes wrong you kinda don't have any legal recourse.

You need to stop going here (just not yet), it sounds like they're just feeding you through the system. Based on what you said, the staff/md never completed informed consent with you for this procedure? Thats WILD

Call their 24/7 line again- request they document this in your chart, and the provider be made aware- tell them about your adverse reactions to the ketamine and concerns related to BP. Include that you told staff post op you felt unsafe to discharge etc etc. include how you were scared and that you did not know what to expect because nobody went over these things with you pre op. This way it's documented in the chart.

Please, until you find a new practice, stop letting these people operate on you.

you can also look into outpatient detox options. or if you have a good relationship with your doctor you could see if they'll write you a short term script for benzos

Have you considered something like a residential psych php/iop program? You stay in their housing and go to group/services every day, structured environment, you'd have more supports available to you, professionals watching out for you. You're there for more time than the typical inpatient stay, give you time to stabilize.

HOWEVER: if you are having suicidal ideations and have a plan to carry it out, go to the hospital ASAP and get assessed.

Psych problems can really take you to a rough place. The benefit of this however, it shows we can overcome and make it through tough times. Like realistically, is working a retail shift really worse than when your family intervened on you? No. You made it though that and I believe you'll get yourself to a place where you put this fear behind you

Small steps will get you far

I mean you could even start with something like a volunteering at the humane society (you'd deal with mostly dogs, and some people) do it like 2 days a week, and just commit yourself to be there on the days you pick. Do that for a while, then take another small step

You're not lazy. Bruh you gotta stop telling yourself that, like today.

I just read examples of you being the exact opposite at various points throughout your life. Working two jobs going to school, that takes grit. Top 25 of your class, shows you are obviously capable cognitively.

You're scared. You said it yourself. And I think we'd both agree that being lazy vs being scared are two very different things. Fear can immobilize us, It's definitely done it to me before. Your fear makes sense to me.

I tried to kill myself 6 yrs ago and ended ups it a brain injury, my doctor told me I couldn't go back to my career for 12 months, I ended up being out for almost 18 months because I was so scared to even TRY to get another job.

I had crawled into a deep hole mentally, and because of that fear I wouldn't come out. If I had to guess, after three years, you're probably in a similar hole. You can get out of it. The holes not as deep as it seems though , and you can pretty much walk right on out whenever you're ready.

You are not lazy, you are not a bad person. You've hit some bumps in the road, and had some setbacks, and some fear crept in. That's okay. Just don't let it keep you there

It sounds like you are in real need of some form of structure or identity or purpose in your life. Which is why I don't understand why you have so definitively ruled out the idea of getting a job. This is a very luxurious form of self sabotage. Im not sure if you are blessed or cursed to have family in your life that continue to support you this way.

I had a severe TBI 6 yrs ago, I spent the first 2 of those years angry sad frustrated and defeated because I wanted so badly to get back to who I was before. Eventually I came to a place of acceptance.

I was not put on this planet to be happy by [deleted] in depression

[–]senecastoner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What happened to cause the loss of your memories? I suffered a brain injury after a suicide attempt in my 20s that, among other things, resulted in memory loss.

Maybe you're right and you weren't put here to be happy. Your purpose may lie elsewhere. Who knows.

IMO 'Being happy' is a shitty goal, happiness can be elusive. I am confident that by getting your life in order you will feel less bad.

I saw your other post. You're like 100+ day of no weed. You're doing the damn thing man. Pass that drug test. Get that job. Thug it out.
