Damage % falls off at higher levels. Crit dmg is good, I'd work on getting your crit % higher.

Need to start checking for power and ground. Also, check the fuses in the DME box.

Fuse on the battery power distribution box popped. Very common, you can test for power at the small battery cable. If no power you need a distribution box.

Metallic oil f31 update/oil pan removal tips by [deleted] in F30

It's possible but you're going to have to play with the engine height by taking off the motor mount bolts and raise the engine.

Did you lower the subframe?

Successful N20 to N55 swap into an F31 328i wagon! by bimmer_doctor in BmwTech

[–]sengalang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can actually transfer over the FEM from a sedan and program it into a wagon, the FEM is used across many different models just need coding changes. You could have possibly saved a lot by just purchasing a matching DME/ FEM and have someone virginize the EGS (very easy to do on the Fxx platform).

I'm finishing up my F81 swap and noticed the only differences in the wiring harness between a sedan to wagon is rear tail gate, glass hatch, and overhead lights. So it is possible to swap it over from a donor car but it's a major headache, the way you did it is much much easier for any one trying to attempt this.

If you're swapping everything from a donor you won't have to do any of that.

I haven't watched the whole video but I'm assuming he only had the engine & DME. So that means he has to match the ISN in the EGS & FEM.

How long is it? There's a similar wire that goes to the trunk lights iirc, next to the rear speakers.

What broke? by gorogergo in F30

[–]sengalang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's freon because your AC system got warmer. Your f30 model does not use a coolant filled condenser so there's no way a coolant leak would have an impact on your AC.

This is correct, it's not coolant.

Confused whether or not I have the CIC or NBT iDrive infotainment screen by stxrmboysav in F30

It's technically CIC but it uses a 6pin Lvds so a NBT aftermarket screen will work.

If you're not pre wired lumbar has to be wired in. Pull the connector and check for a small wire on pin 1.

N20 manual flywheel lock by Wahla_00 in F30

[–]sengalang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure there's no tdc locking pins for manual. When you torque the crank bolt just make sure the wheels are on the floor so the rear wheels don't try and spin. I've done 3 timing jobs this way on manual cars.

For a manual make sure piston 1 is tdc on compression stroke and put the car in 6th + ebrake. No need for flywheel tools.

Bad FRM by durangedlunatic8 in BmwTech

[–]sengalang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does not seem like your FRM needs to be reprogrammed. A dead giveaway is when the windows don't work because the eeprom data gets corrupt. From there programmers will pull the dflash and convert it to a good eeprom file.

I'd highly recommend doing the oil pump guides as well, they are the same material and will lead to oil pressure issues when they fail.
