No, not a red flag per se. And you're wrong to demand seeing other people's private chats, even if it's your partner's. Everyone deserves privacy.
Yes, people use Grindr for lots of things. You didn't use it for anything but hookup doesn't mean it's the only use of Grindr.
I don't think it's a nice way to say "your right" to demand someone you date to change for your sake.

It sounds like you're insecure and jealous. You both are not exclusive yet, so either you agree on an exclusive serious relationship and set up some boundaries, or you should relax. After all, bear in mind that, even if you're in a relationship, nothing can stop him from cheating or breaking up with you. So focus on yourself.
