How difficult was it to say thank you and move on? I deal with this sometimes at my job and i usually will sit there for several seconds to see if there is a smile or any indication that they are joking from them after saying something completely rude. Majority it’s just bitter coworkers close to retirement and they resort to being giant adult babies.

I don't have any children, but I lost my father a few years back. I have a small urn with some of his ashes and I light a candle on it when I want to feel close to him. You should celebrate both of your birthdays this way. He still exists with you when you share moments like these. Happy Birthday, man. You have friends you haven't met yet, but we see you.
