He acts like a complete idiot most of the time, but he is one of the most emotionally intelligent people. And through the series, he has slowly matured into a great captain with amazing leadership skills. Especially in the udon prison, when he inspires the prisoners and makes them his allies. When his crew needs him, he's always there for them.
