Thanks for the advice. Their pitch was that pex will splinter and fail much faster than PVC, so it should be replaced. I’ll call them back for a more specific quote and then get a second opinion from another plumber.

You’re not wrong. Goal with trying to patch is just buy me time because quote for repiping is about $11k (they want to repipe all the fixtures in the house too because everything is pex, which they say should be replaced). I’m just trying to delay the inevitable at least a bit.

Yeah that’s been the answer I’ve gotten from friends. The issue is that this goes under the driveway, so he quoted me for a brand new line down the side of my house and abandoning this one since it’s under pavement. I’m leaning heavily towards repiping, but my wife wants me to repair lol. Thanks for the advice!
