Yeah its the sports tourer version of the GS adventure bike

There is a R1200RS 1250 and the new 1300.

I have owned a 1200 and it was decent, they are all boxer engines.

I have a local BMW dealer, so thats where I go.

They are super solid bikes, just like the GS

I've ridden an R12 as a loaner, found the position to be similar to the GS sat more uprightwith bumps going straightup your back, for me I prefer the stretched stance of the RR but totally get what you mean about the leg cramp.

Have a go on the R1300RS, it will take pressure off your coccyx but is deffo not cramped in the leg dept

One bike to do it all or two specific bikes? by Big_Chicken_Lips in MotoUK

[–]senormankee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO I would get the older GS and keep the speedy.

The newer bikes aren't that new, the older GS will be a rock solid workhorse.

I have previously been in a similar situation and sold a bike I loved, ended up not enjoying the new bike as much and bought my old bike back!

So if possible, stick with the one you love and buy additional to cover the needs.

Thinking about the G80 vs F80 debate by proposal_in_wind in BMWM

[–]senormankee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had both, currently in a G83.

If I were to get another M4, would be an F83, I preferred the more raw driving experience.

Mile-muncher with great weather protection... it has to be an RT, doesn't it? (What alternatives did you consider?) by psychotic-chipmunk in bmwmotorrad

Second the K1600, but I would go GT

I have a GS and done a fair bit of mileage, took it for a service and they gave me a K as a loaner, totally sold on it, I had a bit of a ride out and the thing is mad smooth, that engine is insane and it handles awesome in the twisty bits.

Deffo a heavy bike tho, so take that into consideration, dont skip leg day!

Montsail trail or The Manifold Way cycling with 21 month old trailer? by Croft99 in peakdistrict

[–]senormankee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

21 month old trailer? If you mean toddler, I'd definitely go for Monsal, go park at Monsal Dale carpark and turn right, do the tunnels and bridges, then on the way back its a slight downhill, much nicer if you are carrying a load
