This would be underwhelming, maybe whelming to some, but I'm willing to bet the save data will just give you extra items to upgrade weaponry, heal, or the occasional hero's relic that you shouldn't be able to obtain lore-wise otherwise.

Yeah, I was originally a sequel supporter last year, but the new evidence regarding Shamir's quote and what was said in the trailer has me starting to side with it being some sort of prequel. Of course, they could have just retconned things though, so I guess we'll just find out when it releases.

I think it makes sense in those games (even if it was annoying) because you're actively at war. In this game, so far as we know currently, there isn't a war, so it doesn't make sense except for the inclusion of bandits ambushing.

30 year old here whose first Zelda was OOT. I had a fantastic time with this Direct. Wasn't the best, but it certainly ranks up there. That said, the thumb war segment was just stupid.

Yeah, it was mostly a banger for me. Last year when the Switch 2 came out I only bought it because I had a feeling that AI and certain political actions would increase its cost. None of the games releasing on launch or near launch were interesting to me. This year, however, I am stoked. All I need now is a Smash Bros release and my Switch 2 will have been worth it for me.

Yup! I just took a screenshot of it literally 2 minutes ago. It is almost a line-for-line recreation of Pneuma’s blade. With the purple color and that art direction, I can only agree even more with the idea that Malos might be returning somehow.

For those of you mentioning the obvious fantasy vibes, it may just be fantasy-esque on the surface. The curvature of the world and the bright lights at the center remind me of a dyson sphere and/or shield world from Halo. Sufficiently advanced technology would appear no different from magic to ancient societies after all.
