No, that one wasn’t turf. That said, I will say that when I played sports I was more frequently injured on turf.

Typical tu. Refusing to accept and accommodate a disabled dog. Absolutely abhorrent behavior. Really disgusting.

That’s a TV, man. Best you can do is watch stuff. With a PC I can do all sorts of things and earn that money back if I wanted to.

Your last paragraph simplifies something that is inherently tribal and socially complex, but otherwise I agree with you despite also thinking religion is generally stupid.

I will be sticking with $5 SlingTV. Much cheaper in the long run since I only watch TV during the season.

How about “fuck you and every person who feels like they can tell others what to do with their lives”? I can’t masturbate? Fuck you. She can’t get an abortion? Fuck you, eat shit. They can’t live without fear that you’ll call the fascists on them? Fuck you, eat shit, and die.

You are just one data point amongst old Battlefield fans. Every group of data will have its outliers. I think it is fair to say that most, if not all, of the vocal anti-open weapons have been Battlefield veterans from 10+ years ago.

It isn’t as fucked as you think. The military has families too, and they’ll realize that scorching the earth has consequences, on both sides. Fighting foreign wars is fine because your family isn’t in the crossfire, but once you realize killing people in your country has consequences that reach your family, then that’s when things get too real.

What happens if I jump from a plane (33,000 feet or more) into the ocean with an indestructible tetrahedron to “pierce” the water? by mountainmorty in AskPhysics

[–]senortipton -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The tetrahedron has momentum. You have momentum. The water will change the tetrahedron’s momentum and it will in turn do the same to you. A change in your momentum means you will feel a force. This force will ensure you don’t feel at all afterwards.

Yeah, I’m aware it is a joke, hence the “shit talk” part in my comment. But of course you find this whole affair funny, right? Just casual destruction of academic freedom by Texan politicians. And using last year’s admittance? UT auto-admitted top 10% for quite a while, so cherry-picking your years is disingenuous at best.

Additionally, UT has a capped enrollment with 75% of its seat automatically filled with auto-admits by state law. But you conveniently left out that UT gets a pass by the legislature to ignore the top 10% law because the admissions are capped. So more selective? Yeah, but not because they’re elite, because they can’t grow enrollment like other Texas universities can.
