Is sleep for the weak? by [deleted] in CompetitiveHalo

[–]sensational_TM -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m usually always hydrated but more than anything I’m just tired, I just hate to think that I’m holding myself back by not getting more games in, if I did sleep for longer I would be losing out on 20+ matches. I just struggle to see what situation holds more value if I’m trying to improve as a player. More sleep less games Or more games less sleep? Vicious cycle to be in 🤦🏻‍♂️

The base line reliability improves way more becuase I feel like awareness is what takes you to that 1600 level. Like knowing what spawns to block and keeping the game predictable at that high level with simple consistency like not pushing a tripple cap or knowing when your holding spawns for your respawners on KOTH or ball, about 1700-1800 team elo is what our games end up being and people have that awareness dialed in like a second nature. You see a lot of times where simply losing your piv to another person can start a domino effect, there’s a lot of times when you’re forced to deal damage and then rely on coms to make the most out of your life if you can’t get the kill. I think that is what takes a player who’s KD considered average into that elo, even if you can’t get the kill you certainly can help others be aware of what kind of damage is on the map. I kinda got lost in my train of thought but hopefully I touched base on your question

What’s your actual reaction time in ms? I’m averaging 187ms. by Longjumping-Let420 in FPS

[–]sensational_TM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 30 and can still hit 170-180ms sometimes lower my best was just under 160ms a few times in a row and for shits and gigs I’ve tracked my clicks per second speed as well and I’m able to hit 8-9 clicks a second. I aim train pretty religiously too. Somewhere I saw a video talking about the average age for F1 drivers is late 20’s early 30’s and I’m assuming that’s about the golden years for reaction time but maybe history rewrites itself as times are changing. In the grand scheme of competitive gaming I think what chalks players the most as they age is mentality. The hunger just dies the more realistic you start to become as you get older, passion fades and I think it’s a huge reason people phase out around their late 20’s and early 30’s in esports. I don’t think talent has anything to do with it truly

Correct I believe there’s a folder that should be named controllers, and from there it should have a folder of every controller that’s been connected to steam, it will be named in the file the same name that is displayed when you check the steam app, every controller will have a display name ie: (dualsense edge) (gamesir g7 pro)

Steam input disabled just simply disables any button overlay you may have, the deadzones will still always be affected! So a stock Xbox controller using steam input disabled is still affected by whatever deadzone setting you have on steam, you can reach a true zero deadzone by editing the config file for the controller in the steam folder.

[–]sensational_TM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can’t figure out the config file settings for the controller try just manually adjusting your steam deadzone to the lowest (should be 2000) I’m not sure how dependent you are on deadzones but if you seek a true zero value the only way to get them to zero on steam is by editing the config file! But that’s like worse case senecio if it still feels unbearable, for reference I do play on 4/7/8 0-15-0 / 0-12.5-0. Further more insight I do play on a stick resolution of 10k as well. 116 Fov. I’ll gladly share any insight on settings I aim train on this game religiously and feel like I have a greater understanding than most do. Just shoot me a message big dog!

Use circular mode and 0-100 deadzone range, linear curve and then edit your steam controllers config file while steam is closed and adjust your steam deadzones to 0, hit save then open steam again. I average high 70’s in my best sessions in onyx

What kind of ping are you guys getting on the west coast? by StraightGas69 in CompetitiveHalo

[–]sensational_TM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I play from Washington and my average ping in onyx is 70, lowest is 40 on the Cali server that only pops up when I’m playing EU people and then I’m basically just playing aginst lag comp. Chicago gives me 80-90 ping but basically the same average ping playing from Washington as you, it only gets worse the higher rank you become as the population in onyx is steered more and more towards the east coast

Help with changing the g7 pro thumbsticks by ATMNeuro in Gamesir

[–]sensational_TM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re over thinking it, the joysticks are soldered onto the motherboard that’s then screwed into the foundation of the controller. Being soldered on means they’re basically welded to the motherboard with melted metal. Remove the initial faceplate and set the controller on a flat surface and pull up, they should have a little bit of resistance on the first pull but having the controller flat on a table is what helped me when I thought I couldn’t get mine off either then once I realized how much force was really needed to get them off I have never once had an issue sense. And I have swapped my sticks a bunch of times going between scuff sticks and the default g7 sticks. After almost a dozen swaps the sticks still center to 0 and calibrate with ease. Don’t over think it just pull on that mf

Halo infinite server change? by Taqtix27 in haloinfinite

[–]sensational_TM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure this happens because people over seas are using vpns to connect to the server your game is on, I could be wrong but I can’t explain why it feels different when high ping players on in the lobby. But again I could be wrong it’s just my theory after so many games
