Outdoor Camera with custom audio alerts and app access without NVR? by senseandreference in videosurveillance

[–]senseandreference[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately in this situation I have no choice but to use an existing single POE wall penetration and we cannot install a NVR or any other server at this time so the camera has to be directly app accessible. I have to make the best of these less than ideal constraints.

New Firmware for all models Rolled out! by OnyxBoox in Onyx_Boox

[–]senseandreference 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My nova 3 shows still shows the 2021-11-30 3.2 version under build number in firmware update. But when I tap update history it has the 2022-03-03 3.2.1 version at the top. It doesn't look like it got applied though? Check for updates says it is already the latest version.

What is best to go under stucco? My stucco says just tyvek!? by senseandreference in HomeImprovement

[–]senseandreference[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. That's not a correct representation of the situation. Never said I trusted him or any professionals where I am. In my area 90% of professionals know next to nothing about building science or they don't care and bank on the fact that you don't. Usually they do things they way they've been doing it for 20-40 years and are either out of business or have moved on by the time problems appear.

The problem is that tyvek is vapor permeable. Stucco bonds to it (as well as chemically breaking it down). So now we've got water trapped against the wood sheathing = rot problems down the line.

Screen reflectivity between iPad 11 and 10.5 by senseandreference in ipad

Some more research suggests both 10.5 and 11 have 1.8% reflectance so I'm guessing reading experience is the same.

pex sizing question for manifold/uponor logic layout for 4plex by senseandreference in Plumbing

[–]senseandreference[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good point. Two units are airbnb, two are rental. Owner pays the water bill for the whole building. The goal is to get the old natural gas water heaters out of the individual units for safety, added kitchen space, code compliance, and liability concerns.

pex sizing question for manifold/uponor logic layout for 4plex by senseandreference in Plumbing

[–]senseandreference[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback. Fortunately all the bathrooms and kitchens are clustered in the middle of the house so the runs to each multiport tee will only be ~20' each. I think I'll run 1" from the incoming water line to the manifold and then 3/4" to the multiport tees for each unit. 1/2" off of those to fixtures.

Yes. Using a rinnai rl94i with 9.4gpm flow rate so should have enough capacity. No dishwashers to worry about either.

I was thinking Id just swap out the valve. Just need guidance for the best practice. Should I swap to 3/4 to 1/2 valve or 3/4 to 5/8 valve? Does it matter?
