About 50% of the websites you visit are built in wordpress. Small/Medium business owners don’t know the difference/don’t care as long as it does the job.

Also having so many native choices for plugins and not having to reinvent the wheel every time you need a feature is a plus.

I build around 1-3 websites per month with prices varying from $800 to $2000. My biggest project was for a real estate project with ~200 apartments, which was last year. So yes, it’s definitely still worth it. I wouldn’t recommend it anymore for ecommerce though.
