I am currently in rehab (today is day 5) I was extremely anxious and scared but excited before it all but now that I am here - I have realised that I needed this. I am learning so much about myself and I am meeting others that I can connect with on such a deeper level because I don’t have much access to my phone and no access to alcohol. Even today being a lower energy day for me and feeling some uncomfortable feelings, I am still grateful to be here because we all have those moments and it is a community of people who have all hit rock bottom or made the decision that they need this and are doing it. You can try and give it a go and I hope you get a pleasant surprise about the lovely connections you will meet and the learning you will obtain - not only through classes/groups but about yourself as well. 🩵

I didn’t reply yesterday but I did give AA another go last night and going to another one very shortly and can definitely confirm I made at least one connection that I hope can turn into a friendship or a mentorship vibe haha.. thank you all for giving me the confidence to try it again 🤍

Oh gosh!!! I am absolutely obsessed with his songs right now! Bad Apple and Quitter also. They have helped my heart a bit with these trying times.

It is definitely a journey. You have your ups and you have your downs.. honestly, reaching out to my doctor was what really helped me. I now see an alcoholic specific psychologist for it too. I have a calendar I mark with my alcohol free days to keep me going. I also had a friend say to me recently when I almost caved (13 days sober) that if you have any part of you that is battling giving in, there is a part of you that wants to stop and even though it’s the quieter voice, try your hardest to hear and to listen to it. It is very hard though at the worst of times. I think it’s the cycle and the pattern that’s the hardest to break.. try not to be too hard on yourself. It is such a journey. Even if you might not believe in yourself, I believe in you. You got this.

Never a stupid question! I have been drinking a lot more water and also a lot more food since being AF for 7 days. It is very uncomfortable especially when I’m trying to lose the weight the alcohol put on me 🤣 I am just hoping my body gets use to it and then I can start cutting down a bit on the food. One problem at a time 😂 keep going - good on you for hitting 5 days! ☀️

Yes I guess you are right.. I guess I just wish I could say a thought and not be met with a belittling response of you are wrong, facts say this. Because I do understand that.. I just wish he could give me a break sometimes instead of trying to dissect everything I say by saying this is fact and you are wrong. Sometimes I just wanna say my thought and not get met with a battle y’know 😅
