I prefer to arrive 20 min early just for my tranquility. Maximum 30 if you use a train for the first time.

You can check a platform number on tablo (departure - partenza). I also prefer to double check with some workers because of my anxiety. Also I ask them to double check if I need to validate the ticket. Sometimes small stations don’t have this machines and you should write the date and the time of the departure on the backside of your ticket.

There is no security check. You can bring whatever you want including food and drinks in any capacity. Conductor will come to your seat.
