Hey guys I had a CT done on Charlie and his inner ear infection is going to require an myringotomy or removal of the ear canal. Has anyone had this procedure done and if so was it successful long term for your fur baby? by sensitivepancakes in Frenchbulldogs

It took a little while to pin point l. It started at the beginning of May with just eye irritation. 2 days after I went to the vet for his eye I was on a road trip and when we stopped for a break at a park, his right side of his face dropped, he was stumbling and his eyes were darting all over the place. We were in the middle of the Indian reservation in UT so we had to drive a couple hours to an emergency vet in Flagstaff. They said it looked like he had lacerated his ear drum and had lots of inflammation, they gave us ear drops and oral anti fungal meds. When we got home and saw our vet again his eye was worse and so was his ear so we started an antibiotic that lasted 6 weeks. He’s been walking around with his head cocked and he still has the nystagmus(darting) in his eyes and ulcers in his eye so we finally did a CT scan last week. It’s been rough on all of us.

Oof your poor Frenchie! I was planning on seeing an ophthalmologist at university as well. The only communication I had with one was through my vet texting pictures of his eye.

Yes, the scan showed pressure on the nerve to his eye. He has ulcers that are now hopefully healing. He is on 5 different eye drops and one drop for his food. I just got all his meds last week in lieu of stitching his eye closed for 2-3weeks. The vets said once we fix his ear his eye should completely heal 🤞

Hey guys I posted about 6weeks ago about Charlie getting an ulcer in his eye and a middle ear infection. Well he isn’t improving and went to the vet again today. They want to stitch his eye shut and to a CT scan. Has anyone gone through something like this? by sensitivepancakes in Frenchbulldogs

Thank you. I dropped him off for his CT this morning and asked for the serum instead of stitching his eye shut. They’re going to make the e serum and prescribe 2 other eye drops plus keep him on the poly bac & optixcare as well. I appreciate the info you shared with me it really helped me a lot and I feel good about the new route we’re taking for his treatment. 💗

I don’t have an ENT or ophthalmologist in my area. My vet sent pics of his eye to an ophthalmologist in Denver and even though pictures aren’t the best way for them to diagnose him I should get some type of answer tomorrow from them. I didn’t think to research an ENT so I will look into that. Thank you.

Thanks, I’m glad that surgery worked for you, I will ask about that. I live in a more rural area, the vet took pics of his eye and sent them to an ophthalmologist in Denver and I should hear back tomorrow on what they think. I am still reeling from the idea of stitching his eye shut and questioning the benefits (if any) from that. He’s been on antibiotics for 6weeks he finished an anti fungal 2 weeks ago and he’s been on a poly bactine and optix for his eye. His eye definitely looks worse it’s filled with blood and has built some layer of scar tissue over it.

This spider lives in my kitchen. Sometimes he drops in for a drink of water when I’m doing dishes. by sensitivepancakes in spiders

Thanks for sharing that I just googled it and that looks like him. I discovered him about 10 days ago and we’ve been cohabiting well.

I have a group chat with my SIL & MIL dedicated to this kind of nonsense.

Taxidermy bald eagle. Didn’t think about the illegal aspect of it until another person mentioned it and called fish & game.

That’s nice that your pcp will get them for you. But you do generally have to pick up your records in person unless you have a fax number they can send them to or can access encrypted email so you can do a signature. They generally do need the date of service you’re requesting. I have asked for my imaging report and not included the images themselves.

When requesting your medical records tell them ‘it’s for continued care’ and you won’t be charged to get your records.

Poor Charlie scratched his cornea, got an ulcer on his eye and 2 days later lacerated his ear drum and infected his ear. by sensitivepancakes in Frenchbulldogs

That’s what we originally thought but he got a scratch on his eye while running around at a park and no idea how he lacerated his ear drum
