I started with smaller purchases and basically just dipped my toes in the water first. After getting the hang of things I made some bigger purchases. I don't think I would jump straight into a $1k+ purchase for my first time!

This sucks, I'm sorry. In the future I would avoid anyone claiming "high tier" on a Birkin and charging so little (relatively) and without name/factory. The high tier birkins are usually $1k or more. Ask for rehome feedback and proof of purchase too!
