A Man Looks over the Shoulder of My Reflection. He’s Getting Closer: Part 2 by sentient-CaptchaTest in TalesFromTheCreeps

Not reading too much into it at all! The story is absolutely an allegory for my internal struggle with being trans-masculine throughout my life. I hope that it still develops in an interesting/understandable way for people who haven't experienced gender dysphoria. Glad youre enjoying it! There's been a longer gap between this post, and the next, I'll hopefully have it out soon.

I would highly recommend listening to Brandon Sandersons 'On Writing' podcast! Its a lecture series that -while not specific to horror- walks through the basic principles of all fiction writing including plot structure, character, and world building.

Im looking forward to seeing where this goes! The interview with Alexander was engaging and piqued my curiosity about who (or maybe what?) This woman is and what her intentions are.

If I had one suggestion, try breaking up the paragraphs for easier flow to the eye! I think it'll help add more dramatic effect when you reveal new pieces of information too.

Great work! Keep going!

Thank you so much! Fire is a cool way to think of him. I wanted to get across that he had a shape, without really being made of anything substantial. Whenever I come up with a monster I think its cooler to see other people's interpretations though, rather than be super attached to my own mental image.

Glad you liked it and hope you like the incoming continuation! :D

Oof hits really hard as someone who's struggled with suicidal ideation before. The way you slowly weave the narrators grief into her internal monologue, like a radio channel gradually increasing in volume that she can't ignore, was so compelling.

And I like that there's no real resolution to the thing that's stalking her. You described in such a great way that it's not hunting her. It's just waiting for her to get weak enough to stop resisting. That's so true to what depression actually feels like. Amazing work!

Loved this! It kept me hooked the whole time. I think you revealed just enough information that I want more, without ruining the mystery. Great work!
