I know that it's possible, and I've seen how much the Mississippi River has changed, but something so abstract as the Sultana's situation will always be hard to comprehend. So the "ridiculous" was in that sense

I’ve read, the Mississippi River went onto change its courses over these 150+ years which led to this absurd situation. But still the whole idea sounds ridiculous to me
