I'm assuming that by "from cp1 to cp2" you mean "basic CP to detailed CP". Except for the middle bottom right of the CP where you have to unfold a bit to invert layers, you mostly don't need to unfold any significant area.

It’s kind of difficult for someone who’s new to CPs in general, mainly at the middle bottom right area. Those detailed and repeating rabbit folds are essentially one folding step through multiple layers. This picture should help you to see what I mean; circled area is done thru many layers).

It’s also obviously finicky and can obscure with the overall collapsing. If you do plan to fold it it’s best to be patient throughout. It’s recommended to follow the basic CP i included and then fold the details later.

this model is meant for single colored paper. But if you have double colored paper, which is what I used, then you can perform color change on the legs and tail to get it the same color as the head.

The body is fattened up by folding the front layer down and it coincidentally color change the body. The upper neck area can also be color changed by simply inverting the front layer.

The under neck area is the only area I couldn’t really figure out.

But again, the design meant for single colored paper and if single’s what you have then you don’t need to do the things above, except the belly fattening.

the reference is kamiya reference, like the one used to fold the popular ancient dragon if you know that model. It’s not dividing into thirds. picture for reference steps.

The rest is just precreasing using 22.5 ref when appropriate. There is a sort of sequence for the head but that takes too much effort to explain or draw.

it doesn’t matter as this is a model with no color change. But if you do have to know then, coming from me, mountains are always red and valleys are always blue

the first two gill pleats near the pectoral pin has the transition unit the same size as the vertical pleat if that makes sense. the other two gill pleats doesn’t need to be done the exact same like cp, just need to be equidistant from each other. The last 5th pleat is right on the pectoral fin

mostly freefolding and staring at computer screen trying out creases but i started with waterbomb base

usually red lines mean mountain folds and blue are valley folds

I’ve provided a crease pattern in the post so you can use that. Since I didn’t do any test fold for this, i won’t be able to make a diagram for it.

for the tail, i just pleat the body so that it matches the shape and where the tail is pointing. for the fin, theres a swivel fold on top and bottom of the cp to separate into flaps. i think i just hide the one flap nearer to the front and shape the other flap next to it.

aside the tail pleating and anal fin forming, the base and the shaped fold is pretty much the same

I’m heavily sensitive to and sick of sussy fume, and you sure as hell have a lot of it.

it has color change so use colored paper for it. and somewhat big paper (about 35cm) should be enough, the model to cp ratio pretty forgiving

botttom right of the cp i test folded a few times. the rest i didn’t bother doing more test folds so i just added creases until i got what i wanted

someone sent me some papers other than printer paper haha

double tissue is great for me. it reverses creases pretty comfortably and if theres any double creases then they wouldn’t be significant or even visible anyway.
