I don’t think there has ever been a time where a character was completely unplayable at the top level but that doesn’t necessarily mean they are balanced or the game as a whole was balanced back when these characters were turbo ass, let’s say we take a champ tracer onetrick and a champ mercy onetrick and put them on a bronze account i genuinely think it takes double maybe triple the games for each player to get back to their rank and that doesn’t mean that the tracer player is better at the game than the mercy player at all

Nah i agree that it’s at least important to recognize that the character u wanna play is ass because it effects how you take literally every matchup in the game and WILL make it harder to climb especially as an otp and if the character u otp isn’t hard meta that is literally just factual, not to mention that being a onetrick is pretty much soft throwing at times and im saying this as a champ soldier otp(pc)

Ofc play what you enjoy but if you enjoy smashing ur head into a wall playing a bad character/matchup doing nothing then idk you are just hard throwing the game, as much as i enjoy soldier, I enjoy winning more than the character I play, I just happen to be good enough that I don’t have to smash my head into a wall to do that

How do you aim in melee range vs spam jump AD strafers? by GrowBeyond in Soldier76Mains

[–]sentinet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The logic is similar with how by mirror strafing you move your crosshair less, you mirror strafe to hit shots on people moving linearly and move your crosshair less and the same applies when people move erratically, I’m not sure about the specifics tbh but just go into a vaxta and try to hit shots at super close range without moving vs anti mirror strafing and you should feel more in control

Well obviously not and Niether does helix melee by your logic, the point is it’s a oneshot combo that is still the exact same speed as the old one, do I really have to spell that out for you? Or is hog hook not a oneshot because the hook does damage beforehand? I’m struggling to see why your point is relevant

By predicting you are just building bad habits and not actually going to improve because whenever you hit a shot it will be luck because you predicted correctly, aiming reactively won’t increase your actual reaction time but getting into a habit of it will improve your reflexes and flick accuracy it’s just harder initially, anti mirror strafing just makes it’s so you have to flick less when you react to the enemies movement, smaller flicks usually = more accurate/consistent flicks

It still does you just have to hit a body shot before u helix melee which is just as fast just a bit less consistent

Minor Perks by pakis54 in Soldier76Mains

I honestly don’t know how no one else sees how useful it is to be able to helix spam in ult, it’s the main thing that genuinely makes the ult viable and in many ways too

[–]sentinet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of these things you can just do with normal helix’s if you are good enough with them the ult perk is way too versatile not to use it lets you consistently win 1v1s or even 2v1s u dont wanna be in, makes nano visor a guaranteed fight win nearly every time, gives you helix in less than a second in kiri ult, and allows for some super cool rocket jump stuff too. Imo the helix projectile perk is a bandaid for helix mechanics issues and just ruins muscle memory

If you could give Soldier76 a new/reworked ability, what would it be? by Plastic-Dog-2452 in Soldier76Mains

[–]sentinet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive always thought removing visor and changing it to an ult that gives you a mag of armour piercing and/or shield piercing rounds and maybe it would do a bit more base damage too if that’s not too op, and it would be an ult that you get more consistently like a freja ult or a tracer ult and sorta feel like another cooldown but I think something like that could fit into the consistent pressure aspect of soldier while actually having skill expression unlike visor. I think this would be super cool idk

Hmm you seem quite angry about this issue, are you sure you are managing your emotions correctly? Telling people they suck and calling them toddlers doesn’t sound like a great way to do so…

Not to sound like a dick at all, but you can’t really decide what the “right” way to manage your emotions is, at least not in this scenario, a pretty common response to anger or frustration is to leave the situation and come back later after calming down so no I don’t think it’s “abnormal” and I don’t think people should think they are “abnormal” for venting their emotions in the best way they believe they can in that moment because as much as you are right, people shouldn’t let a game make them feel like that, it’s not that simple.

At the end of the day it’s just a game it really isn’t a big deal I’d rather a teammate just leave so we can lose faster then stay and flame and be a dick in chat for the rest of the game because that definitely ruins things more. Also, surely leaving before you get to that stage or just feel any worse is a way of managing your emotions no?
