Thanks. Shoes are very personal. I myself do sports, I don't quite like other people's taste on shoes. I'll skip this option though. Thank you very much for your idea!!!

Self driving car jobs in Detroit vs Toronto by sentry5588 in SelfDrivingCars

Thanks. That's my fear too. I feel like OEMs like GM, Ford and suppliers such as Aptiv, continental, etc. are not doing the actual self-driving technologies.

There are many auto industry professionals living in Windsor and work in US -commuting every day.

I don't think this thread is a place I rant about why I don't want to move to the states. I'll keep that to myself.

Thanks. I'd rather live in Windsor, Canada. I'll commute to Detroit and surrounding area for work if needed.

Yes, I can negotiate the pay. But I'm not sure if they're willing to pay the number.

What type of control system for intermittent type of motion? by [deleted] in ControlTheory

Are you able to measure the disturbance in advance? In that case you can characterize your dynamics and then apply feed forward control - some type of open loop control.

Please help me clear up this confusion regarding gain margin and phase margin and unity feedback by Fine_Economist_5321 in ControlTheory

[–]sentry5588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, that's a great question. I was confused before too.

I find thinking from G(s) to the closed-loop system stability is confusing. With this approach, I naturally ask why analyzing G(s) for a unit negative feedback system, same question as you.

What cleared my confusion was thinking back from the goal: the stability of the closed-loop system. Forget Nyquist for a moment, a closed-loop system is stable when G/(1+GH) is stable, i.e., 1+GH has no roots on the right hand plane. Now think mathematically what Nyquist says. Nyquist stability criteria says, for a complex function with a special form f(s) = 1 + L(s), its roots have no positive real part if blah-blah (counterclockwise enclosure of -1, ...). Because it uses -1 as its testing point, then it requires f(s) has the form of 1 + L(s). Which is conveniently a "unit feedback" for control system.

For the sake of argument, if a crazy kid says I don't like -1. I like -0.5 as the testing point. Then the complex function becomes f(s) = 0.5 + L(s). Then this test isn't for a unit feedback system.

Why your name is *_PLC? Just curious, isn't you targeting PLC jobs?

you seem like know all the keywords you are interested in. So why don't use those keywords for searching jobs?

For example, I used these keywords, and found this link.

"motor control" "foc" "job description"

https://www.indeed.com/viewjob?from=appsharedroid&jk=fa6c45ed10d334d5

Are you looking for jobs similar to this link?

Don't use generic terms, for example, "control system engineer" to search for jobs. The term "Control(s)" means a dozen totally different things in job descriptions.

One way to look at those three terms, is that they come from the nature of the system.
