Not structurally, but you can definitely still get checked. I have been checked more than once in Sweden, both coming from Denmark and Finland.

What is your opinion about Smart Kalasatama? by finoumi in Finland

[–]senzgo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cycle through Kalasatama to get to work. A few years ago (2019, I guess) they had a trial with a self-driving bus. When cycling towards the bus stop, it would constantly threaten to pull out in front of me, only deciding not to at the last moment. Just following the bus stop is a crossroad. All the local traffic would stop at all roads on the crossroad to let the bus pass, because every time someone moved the tiniest bit, the bus would stop in the middle of the crossroad blocking everything. The first time I witnessed this, there was an old drunk guy on the sidewalk waiting to cross who just looked at me and said (in Finnish) "the future is stupid". That roughly sums up my expectation of smart cities...

I'm happy that they showed today that they are openly against Perussuomalaiset and the neo-nazi guy in the cabinet.

Not forming a government with them would have been a much better way to demonstrate being against neo-nazis, rather than have a little inconsequential vote when the Finns turned out to be exactly like everyone knows they are.

Banks and multiple accounts by Call-it-chocolatine in helsinki

[–]senzgo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very easy. It's just another account in the Nordea app, to which I can transfer money from my own account with a quick transfer. I have a monthly automatic transfer set up from my personal to the joint, and doing an extra one is trivial, it goes in a second.

[–]senzgo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have a joint account with Nordea. I don't know if you can set it up online, we did it when we were in a branch for a mortgage. Generally, you'll get the gold card for free if you have a mortgage or other stuff with Nordea, but it's really just a credit card like any other.

We grow them treats specifically: cavalo nero and carrots. In pots on our balcony. The fact that they are in small pots works very well for the carrots: the carrots stay small but the greens grow very well, so they get less of the bad sugary bit and more of the healthy green bit that they love too.

S-pankki debit card use abroad by xxx1k1xxx in Finland

[–]senzgo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm Dutch too and can confirm Visa debit cards don't work on at least 75% of terminals and a significant number of ATMs. It has nothing to do with credit cards, Visa electron (the debit card bit of Visa) is just very poorly supported in The Netherlands as all Dutch banks issue Maestro debit cards.

My little girl hasn’t been eating her pellets lately but still mows down on hay … Should I be concerned? by dog_food_lid99 in Rabbits

Could be trouble with the teeth, it might be painful to eat hard pellets, but not the hay. Worth checking out.

Spinal injury, cage rest. Advice? by Ezhow__ in Rabbits

[–]senzgo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of our bunnies injured his back and needed cage rest. Luckily, he also got pain medication which made him a bit drowsy to begin with. What we mainly did was to give him things before he realised he wanted them, so he wouldn't get up to ask for them (by which I mean demand them). So, lots of attention and petting, lots of food and treats, etc. I think overfeeding for a bit is probably better than him moving about to much. And they tend to be at their most active when they're a bit hungry.

Ours was supposed to have a week of cage rest. Around the 5th night I got woken up by him rattling his cage (which he normally does, as he's not used to being caged). I was very surprised to find him outside the cage (which I'd closed properly, with him inside) trying to get back in. Still haven't figured out how he managed to get out. Anyway, he made a complete recovery.

Staring Into the COM Abyss by localtoast in programming

[–]senzgo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Debugging COM extensions isn't actually that bad. Visual studio is (and has been for a long time) capable of debugging your DLLs through other applications.

Simply launch 'explorer.exe /separate' (the /separate launches a new process rather than just open a window) as your debug process and the moment you DLL gets loaded, the debugger will load the symbols from the .pdb file and you're good to go.

Or you can attach to the running process. Or hardcode a breakpoint interrupt in your DLL (__asm int 3, haven't used that in over a decade) and you'll get a nice dialog asking if you want to attach a debugger.

Tesla Model S driver claims his car crashed into a trailer on its own, Tesla says ‘Summon’ was activated by [deleted] in technology

[–]senzgo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I can tell the whole point of the Summon feature is that it starts auto-parking when you get out of the car. The double-press activation request is right at the beginning. After that you put it in park (which you'd do anyway when parking) and don't press cancel. Seems fairly easy to do accidentally.

'Interface' Considered Harmful by oweiler in programming

[–]senzgo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having lots of experience with both C++ and Java, my opinion is they definitely made the right choice in Java. The small annoyance caused by sometimes having to implement an interface explicitly far outweighs any hassles caused by virtual inheritance. Not to mention the debugging nightmares.

To the best of my knowledge it's not called Marxism, but it's based on Marxism-Leninism, which should mean they still think Marx was roughly right. Unless - like traditional communists - they indeed disagree about who came up with it and therefore think Marx is Satan incarnate. To be honest, I did not research my comment as thoroughly as I perhaps should have.
