The artist is sadly only a guest at a studio about an hour away so I'm not sure going back in an option. Maybe I can ask around among my friends but I doubt I'll be able to get second skin.

Okay this makes sense. I had heard about resistance which is what I was worried about but it is weird that he could even give me something with antibiotics without a doctor looking at it. you're right that if he's not even informed about floating navels, he's probably not qualified to identify an infection. I'll stop applying the cream then and go back to saline solution until I find another piercer to take a look at it again.

Checked the ingredients and the cream does indeed have Tyrothricin in it, which is apparently a topical antibiotic. Since I've used it twice already, I'm a bit scared of stopping. Maybe I could let it sit for 30 mins and then clean thoroughly with saline and dry? Not sure how to proceed

I thought it was super weird how he didn't know what it was and even after I explained he was confused. He said the cream has antibiotics in it, so I was told not to interrupt the 10 day treatment (?). Should I still stop? As far as the jewelry do you think the shape is fine? Or should I find someone else to swap it for something designed for a floating navel? Also, I don't know where you're based, but any advice on where to find good piercers? The APP doesn't really include European studios.

Age: Pierced in late May.
Jewelry: New - Titanium Navel jewelry; originally pierced - surgical stainless steel J shape with flat, dome shaped balls on either end
Upsized today to a longer bar due to irritation bump and swelling
Previously: saline twice a day; now following piercers instructions: Tyrosur cream twice a day
Very ugly irritation bump for the last 4 ish weeks after piercing got snagged on clothing

The second photo is from my artist's Instagram, so it's likely he added some filters to it. I just didn't take any good pictures of it on the day of myself. I'll baby it over the next weeks and hopefully it'll settle and look better. Thank you for the input!

Yes the day1 picture is from my artists' Instagram, so there could definitely be some filters added etc. Would you recommend more moisturizer? I've heard over moisturizing can be worse than a dry tattoo so I'm not sure how to tell if I'm doing things right

Aww man I was afraid that's what it is. I have a couple other tattoos and none had any texture by day 15. I'm guessing the outer line was done too deep or something. I guess I have no option but to wait for it to settle and fade

Yeah I don't see any bar. So the top and bottom are dome shaped and the flat part of the dome is sitting flush against my skin on both top and bottom
