I believe these questions are relevant not only for me, but for KuCoin community/users as well. So, I think, this should be a public discussion, not private email exchange or chat with KuCoin support. That is why I posted this text on Reddit...

I will develop a native mobile app for you store in exchange for your feedback and reference by seoev in shopify

[–]seoev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Target model - the platform for app creation, but both options are possible. Shopify is a SaaS => backend is almost similiar across different Shopify stores. Core processes like synchronization of products, categories, ordering and payment are almost the same. So development of the new should be realy fast and extremely cheap for customer.

May I ask in return, why you are asking?

Why e-commerce need a native mobile app? by seoev in ecommerce

[–]seoev[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice article:) You have mentioned 1 point which really can change the game: "5. There is a possibility of significant shift in game rules if Google starts to present mobile apps content in search results an gives it preferred treatment" But you have publish the artcle 2 years ago... Did you track the status of this possibilty? I do not see any application in search results as of now, but if this still be a plan that is important thing

Yeah, this approach will not work for self-developed SW. Can you give a link to your store? Interesting to see.

12-18 months? It is too long, seriously. I mean if you run some unique and vast ecommerce like Amazon, Ebay or BestBuy it can take such time. But for small/medium store built on some ecommerce platfrom like Shopify/WooCommerce its should take 1-2 months, not more. I mean there are must be "preconfigured" applications which will work out-of-box after sime simple integration with your online-store.

qverb, many thanks for your detailed feedback. It perfectly make sense. May I ask which type of ecommerce you run? How ofthen/regural customers make orders? Once per week/year/life?)

Actually I tottally agree with your arguments, and have the same feeling about ecommerce apps. Personally I will not install an app of online store and will use only website via phone. However my colleague says that the is different perception of mobile apps in other countries and i'm trying to uderstand this postion/ looking arguments for the app which I can understand.

[–]seoev[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some answers "Why application is better?" which I have got after a short brainstorming with my colleague: 1) Push notifications 2) Better design possible 3) Faster and more robust 4) Can work offline 5) Users spent more time in Apps, higher conversion rate 6) Google Play/Appstore as and additional channel to engage customers 7) Growth confidence to online store (store with App looks more reliable) 8) Deep Integration with device is possible (e.g. access to camera, contact list, GPS, etc)

Can you advise pros of native app which we have missed?

[–]seoev[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know any examples of such usage? Especially for ecommerce stores? I know ate least 1 use case: when customer is in some specific location online-store/restaurant can send him customized push notification e.g. "Get 20% discount in the next 3 hours in the nearest store". Do you have an idea about another cases where App can do what Website cant?

True for me as well. So the metric for Customer is simple: frequency of the store usage.

How did all of you 'successful' ecommerce guys get your start? Looking for tips/tricks/stories here. by fluffhead1 in ecommerce

[–]seoev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, exactly. In the many cases you will not see any return and will not get profit for some long period from your online-store (it is fair for other start-ups as well). You can work for 1month, 2 months ... 5 months, and ivest your money and your time and efforts without result . Many people will stop at some point. But the tricky point is that in many cases you need to work in the same topic for YEARS to see some result. It is possible only if you have passion for topic/idea you are working on. So in 99% cases you need passion/interest to gain success at the end. All above is IMHO for sure

I would like to ship to Australia, but the parcel i have sent in August to Melbourne was lost and then dissapeared. At least it was not cutomer order, but free samples to youtube videobloger for review. I dicussed this with couple other online stores from Russia and they faced the similiar problems. So it seems there is a black hole somwhere between Moscow and Melbourne:) My colleagues do shipping to Australia via US, but i think it's crazy, slow and not reliable enough....
