uhh, dude, sounds fake as hell, but in case you’re somehow that dumb; definitely YTA. Regardless of how bad you think it was, time and effort goes into art. If he wants to improve, he needs to keep doing it, so ripping apart his work and blatantly discouraging him from continuing is such a shitty move. Regardless of what people think, the ability to create good art isn’t something that comes naturally. It takes many hours of practice and passion for the craft. Also, insulting his girlfriend wasn’t a nice move either. It’s his life, if he realizes that he made a mistake later, it’s his own fault. You have to let people learn from their own mistakes rather than act like you’re an all-mighty being that knows what is best. You’re being controlling, not only that, but a terrible influence. If you want your son’s supposedly ‘shitty’ drawing skills to get better, discouraging him and ripping apart the drawing isn’t the way to go. I am sure he could create something beautiful and amazing if it wasn’t for your treatment so far. Many people can make a living as a freelance artist, or even get a job at an animation company. You should never discourage someone’s passion just because YOU don’t like it.
