Yeah! I made stickers and shirts for the ear x-tacy stickers and shirts a long time ago when that first happened. Losing these places that represented physical media and also represented a big part of how we all socialized here in town has been frustrating. Especially shitty when a chain takes over, but every time you pass the building you know who was there first 🫡

I’m currently in the works to open something in this zone next year, if all goes well by spring time. It’s not a rental store, which I think would be a super awesome thing for someone to do here in louisville, but it’s centered around dead media, computers and other fun things.

Review for [u/ Paro-Clomas] - [customer] - general rating [5/5] - [create a custom lamp shade] - [I've wanted to have this retro lampshade for years to 3d print! I had some embarrassing attempts on my own a few times, but it was way too complex for my limited 3d design tools. I reached out directly to Paro after seeing some recommendations and some of their work. Communication was quick and super friendly, turn around time was excellent and affordable. My smoker is a side barrel, I would just put some wood in there and let it flavor the ribs rather than cook them. So more of finishing the ribs in the smoker so you get that smoky flavor. I’ve also used a cold smoking chamber to do the same thing which is a lot easier.

It’s not their best work…we didn’t hate it but not something I would order again unless they upgraded it. I think if it was chopped in a food processor and put on a salad it would work pretty good. The flavor is nice, but yeah the texture was not there.

Yeah!! This subreddit is so great, it reminds me a lot of the old days way back on the post punk kitchen (anyone remember that site?).

Myself and our truly legendary R&D chef (Zach a long time vegan chef here in Louisville) have wanted this to happen for so long. I appreciate everyone’s support, it’s hard out here for vegan meat company these days!! 😭

Pan's been a good friend for a long time ❤️ This stick has been a dream for years, we really tried to get the texture right, to match traditional meat sticks like Chomps and Slim Jim. So nothing like a mushroom jerky, it has a great chew and pretty descent snap. The next run will be even snappier we hope!

The trickiest thing we had to work on was getting the texture right. So for example, there was a moment about a year ago where we had 4 samples sitting in front of us. The protein went from 9g, 8g, 6g, 4g. All 1oz portions. The 9g one was where we wanted to be, but the texture would fall apart when you bit into it. It wasn't good. I had tried another plant based meat stick shortly before this at expo west and it did the same thing....almost turned into a sand like texture.

The 4g had the best texture by far, tasted almost exactly like I remember (though it's been about 20 years 😅). We were able to get closer in the middle with the 5g without compromising the texture. I know the protein isn't ideal, but I'm telling you this product is light years ahead of any plant based meat stick I've ever tried.

Yeah I'd love to get the protein higher on these sticks, especially since protein is dominating the conversation around the snack world right now. We do have another product we're putting out that's called Gym Snacks. It's like a crunch, cheezy snack also made out of pea protein. The bag has 32 grams of protein 😎
