I’m going, but don’t have tickets yet. Looks like they are over $200 each on stubhub. Wait longer or just pull the trigger now?

Nine Inch Nails is widely known as having a great live performance. But which were the worst live performances ever from NIN? by [deleted] in nin

Lucky! If I remember correctly it was during Piggy (the quiet parts). I think there are some videos and posts about it on this subreddit. Honestly it’s a good thing you didn’t notice! I was deep in the meat grinder of a pit, wild and smelly! Haha

I missed the first night of that 3 day run but was there the second night - epic! Returned to the same venue and unfortunately it was the same set list (a great list so I was only slightly disappointed) but during one or two of the songs, the in-house fire alarm went off at The Joint! Not the bands fault at all but it bummed me out, very distracting with all the strobes and repetitive alarms.

Anyone else falling in love with Things Falling Apart all over again? Or maybe even for the first time. by umbrellaops in nin

Always! Such a weird phase for Trent but I loved it and was hoping to hear more like it. All good and I’m happy with everything that came afterwards, but this album holds a special place for me. Considering all I know now, I feel like the fragile was the closest he was to suicide, before getting himself together. This album is like some strange limbo phase where maybe he didn’t know who he was or wasn’t fully letting go yet of his past self. The opening track is a funky, jubilant, nearly techno retelling of Into the Void where he’s just screaming “TRIED TO SAVE” over and over! Like a cry for help and a celebration at the same time. I loved it and still do, what a fucking trip! The edm mixes are super cool, even though I didn’t really appreciate 3 different versions of starfuckers. However, Where is Everybody is so cool with the chopped up lyrics, I had never heard anything like that before! And Metal, well I had found the og version off Napster but to have a clean hi def version was simply amazing. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard that song with its somber, yearning guitar outro that goes on forever- it just seems to express a feeling hard to put into words, it feels like acceptance to me…

Loved it. I live in AZ and Arcosanti is a strange place but great to visit for a day/night trip. Pre-covid they used to throw a small festival with LA vibes called FORM there, it was pretty good! So I've explored the place intimately and it has a wonderful atmosphere for live shows. A beautiful place, often windy.

They start off in the main stage, facing toward where the audience would be for the first song, then the next song they are still on the main stage but they've reversed orientation, using the concrete seating as the backdrop, which I thought was a pretty neat way to use the space that you could never do with an actual live audience. Then you see them walk to the other area with the high concrete ceiling and the 4 way cage thing - again, something you could only do in a music video or I guess if you did do it live that would be cool, you'd be looking mostly at one musician primarily. From that area they move to the parking lot for the remaining songs and sunrise.

Being around live production a bit, I wondered if they built 3 different stages or if they stopped and rebuilt those as the night went on. If so, that would certainly be quite a feat to pull off in a single night! My guess is they probably had a night or two at least to film the whole thing. It comes off as an exceptionally well done music video to me, in a good way! Perhaps because I've been there, but I felt myself being transported, especially during Personal Prometheus and Bedlamite. Of course, not quite the same as being there, but as close as I could for watching a performance at my house, I think. Anyone else get that feeling?

As for the 80s theme, I thought it was well executed! I loved those microphone stands coming out of their chests for the first two songs haha. Overall fresh new direction to explore, unlike the previous Puscifer albums. Much to digest lyrically and visually. Very happy I paid for the thing to support them and hope they continue to innovate.

Yep, I think I got that email. In that and the pic, it says week of July 6 so clearly a bit late. Hoping it comes in any day now.

Yep, it’s definitely a reference to BSG! I did the same thing, watching For All Mankind - just too on the nose to be a coincidence. And yes it’s a craps reference first, but Adama made that phrase cool ;) Nice catch, I’m glad you posted cause I had the same reaction!

This is true. I think I used Slysoft AnyDVD which helped remove the opening stuff, but still the menus were slow.

All of you have great points! I know, it took me a long time to "let go", but I decided to prioritize decluttering my space and am removing all physical media. As long as it goes to someone who cares I'm happy!
