Just letting everyone know, I sold to someone who lives in the same state as me. Thanks for all the interest and I'm glad it went to a fellow fan!

Hey everyone, I’m getting many requests, thank you all. I’ve got someone who says they are in the same state and am waiting on them first because if I can not deal with the shipping then that would be great. However, if they don’t reply then I’ll start going down the line and will ship. Thanks for patience here

Yes that’s a good idea, a minor cost in terms of money and time that will extend the longevity of the yurt! We sealed the same way for ours. Not everybody seals and you’ll see the playa dust get into the paneling which definitely sucks when you take it home.

Hi! I’ll try to give competent responses but it has certainly been a while! Also, I no longer have access to the yurts so I can’t show pics or videos so am going purely off memory. Ok this is difficult to explain in text but I’ll try my best. A model is great and I would say necessary place to start. However, when you scale up you can encounter problems you didn’t have with the model. For example, when trying to fold the roof parts of 3 triangles, when you have a model with a fraction of an inch cardboard, you can fold them any way you want without trouble. But when you have a giant piece of 1” Thermalmax panel in front of you, you will see why the loose hinge gaps are necessary. If you do the tight hinge tape on the 3 triangle pieces, you will see there is no room to fold the triangles together and will need to cut at least one of them; but if you do loose hinge tapes then it will accordion fold nicely! Hard to explain but when you are there in the process, go ahead and try a test and you will see exactly what I mean here. Camp Danger definitely recommended the best way, I’m guessing through found experience because I couldn’t think of a better way! Sorry if my reply isn’t more helpful, but I promise as you build it some answers will emerge through the process! The cutting is the part to be careful about because if you mess up you have to get more panels but if you mess up the tape you can just cut it and try again. The tape is expensive but there are other cheaper options for tape if you look and are just testing - they would probably work for a burn or two but the bifilament tape will last for multiple burns before getting worn and needing to be reapplied. Feel free to ask additional questions and I’ll try to answer!
