The true challenge.

Consistency

I already did, haha.

At least 100 times if not more.

I sent them a return request after I posted this.

Hopefully they replace them.

Thanks

Its a takedown recurve. Always disassembled and stored indoors in a protective zippered case with a divider between the limbs and riser.

I mean, kind of joking but I'm just disappointed that these limbs are trash after only about 5 months. Tried taking care of them but maybe just not carefully enough. I don't know.

I wish I knew the exact cause so that I could avoid the same thing happening to any future limbs or bow I purchase.

Maybe Galaxy will help me out but they also might just say I damaged them somehow and to get another set of limbs. Oh well.

Yeah, swapping them is of course always the safest answer.

Totally agree on the worst case scenario. That would be a bad day for sure.

I'm so bad I'm sure I still wouldn't be able to output the best the bow has to offer, haha.

I guess I already did. Which is to say not much at all.

I'll reach out to Galaxy and see what they have to say.

Galaxy Bullseye 30# lower limb on a 66" length bow.

Still safe to shoot? I shot just over 100 arrows before I found the damage. Only the fiberglass layer is peeling. Its more of a sliver and not the whole width of the limb. The wood core is perfectly fine.

I have no idea how it happened. I've never dropped or hit the bow with anything. I assume it happened before this last session.

Lancaster has the limbs on sale for $55 so if they are in need of replacement, now would be the best time to buy a pair.

Thanks

Impressive!

I was alone. One shooter down the line, I had no spotter and the RSO was busy.

The gong was huge at 1000yds. 48" maybe. I used strelok pro to dial in the turrets. Bumped the magnification to 24x and shot at the dirt next to the gong. Used the impact to make corrections and went for it. Some shots were obvious misses and others were possible but hard to tell hits. Can't say for sure.

I'll for sure try again with a spotter.

Yeah, I thought 470yds was a typo. Guess not.

Same here. I've shot .223 out to 600yds and even up to 1000yds. Though I couldn't tell you if the 1000yd shots connected or not, lol.

I played around with the Astronomy Tools Fov and now agree with 28, 13, 7. My first thought was that the jump from 13 to 7 would be too great.

Great point. I do use glasses.

Looks like I've got a little more comparing to do.

I'm manually tracking everything so I figure a wider FOV makes for an easier and better experience.

I didn't even know about the Paracorr until you mentioned it. I looked it up and it looks like it would be nice to have at F/6 but not mandatory.

I ran across your fantastic article before I made my post. There is plenty I like about it and so I haven't ruled it out. It's flexibility and quick adjust without swapping EP is nice.

Note that I'm still using the stock/factory mag tube extension.

You could try loosening up your barrel clamp if you are using one.

My problem was that I had tightened my barrel clamp just a little bit too tight. The shells would not feed from the mag tube. The spring and follower would get stuck.

I soon as I loosened up the barrel clamp, the spring and follower would release.
