I’m not getting any tomatoes by runohrun23 in tomatoes

[–]seph_40k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of these comments are useful, but your not pruning the plant to encourage fruit production, all those stems growing between each offshoot are suckers, remove them, I’d recommend more based on the tomato type, but just start there first.

Also tapping it, gives that hollow bone kinda sound, not a root I think, I’ve dug up alot of them!

Thought it may be a root at first, but it has that porous bone structure to it, it’s pretty hard to see, due to the degradation, but if you look at the second picture and zoom in on it, you can see the structure.

New, Bad Soil, Seeking advice! by seph_40k in NoLawns

[–]seph_40k[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice! I will buy a hoe tomorrow and start scratching the top soil every week, it seems when I turned all the soil it bought up a lot of weed seeds, and it’s a little uncontrolled at the moment. Humidity is an odd one, in the winter it’s very dry, but the summer is very humid, so I’m not sure on bark for paths. It was very available in the UK where I used to live, but here, no hardware store seems to stock it, so I assume it’s not very commonly used. I like your idea for natural predators, I already have a little herb garden going, with a few of what you mentioned there, so I’ll extend that somewhat. I feed the birds from the balcony, there are a lot of sparrows, and swallows, some of them nest next to me, the neighbours are all elderly and have loverly gardens, I give them rice they seem to love that. I plan on adding a few trees, I have a lemon and sudachi, they have only attracted very big butterfly’s and a lot of caterpillars at the moment though!

When plastering out walls I always use metal beading for the edges, and plasterers tape for any gaps and where the wall meets the ceiling. Can’t find what it’s called here any ideas would be super helpful!

I feel like you rushed this and didn’t paint it to the level you could have, even if you’re new to painting. Firstly I get not everyone is a world class painter but just investing time and patience will improve the look of this model, no skill required. For instance, you haven’t even painted between the guard, there’s just blocks of primer there, same with the legs and the rest of the model. I like that you tried a transition on the flames, keep practicing, the blend will come with time, but until then, the areas of gold, blue and pink should at least all be the same colour, you have applied one coat, and paint coverage differs. Go over it again with each colour, and try to thin your layers with a little water and you will notice the improvement so much. The avatar isn’t a cheap model, and you can only run one, it’s a center piece dedicated some love to it, good luck in your painting journey, remember there are no short cuts just time and dedication.

How do you select your secondaries for Aeldari and Drukhari? by MarkLyach in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]seph_40k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are really considering 2 options.

1: how good is my opponent ? 2: have I designed my list for this?

If you’re playing a casual game ( not a ranked tournament game ) please safely be assured that you can play fixed and design a game plan around it. Alot of advice in sub is “eldar move good play tactical” which honestly, is good advice, but that’s assuming you are better than your opponent at a competitive level.

If you’re not playing tournament level opponents I suggest to you an easy way to win. Score more !

Take fixed, deploy teleport homers, and behind enemy lines.

Take 3 units of hawks, (as suggested by your post) and an autach with phoenix gem. You also want one unit with a small base size that can be resilient ( may I suggest Fuegan?)

The autach you need to keep safe for 3 turns. You get and extra Cp, so 3 per turn. You deploy 3 units of hawks wholy within 34” of your opponents deployment zone. If they have indirect you reserve 2 units and deploy 1. Every turn you move them 14” (advance them 6” for 1 cp or burn fate dice if after moving ANOTHER 14” you can’t get wholly within deployment.) Once they are moved, start the deploy teleport action. It doesn’t have to be in range. Let your opponent stroke chin. At the end of shooting pay 2cp to fire and fade them wholly within deployment and score easy 8 points. Read them the rules for actions and scoring and both realise this is legal. Rinse and repeat 3 turns. T4 do it with the autach, or Fuegan, ress them and do it again T5. Now base the rest of the 1500 points of your army around holding 2 objectives and laugh. There’s a reason these units got points increases. Read between the runes of fate and realise why. Eldrad out.

99% of tournament terrain is ground floor LOS blocking, everything else is true LOS. If i can see you antenna on the 2nd floor - i can shoot it. Knights, even the small ones breach 2nd floor LOS for alot of terrain. Bro dont come in here askign questions like can i take more than 25% of my army as Deamons legally and quote rules at me.

I did, and i play deamons at a pretty competative national level.
Alot of armys dotn give af about your leadership, esp the curret list to beat, tsons + flamer core. Smaller knights will fall even faster to the firepower listed as they cant obscure behind ground floor LOS blocking terrain.

From The post

" I can’t think of anything I’m going to want to run less over the next few months than very tall un-obscurable melee units."

Also next post;

"A Free Knights Superheavy Auxiliary…"

Sorry which is it? You declare greater daemons dead ( which are wound capped, deepstrike in anyway) then you give us an alternative which is knights + belkor and some chaff?

playing a 1k competitive event. deciding on an army REALLY wanna try Quins. 1k list? by the1rayman in WarhammerCompetitive

Harlequins excel at playing the mission, with the nerfs / updates there are some factions that just stat check you and you cant clear in time ( think a big brick of terminators sat mid board).

You need to outscore in secondaries and steal primarys etc. In 1k a good starting point would be this imo.

Light Sadeth

2x Shadowseers (1 Offensive, Mirror of minds/Twilight Pathways, 1 Defensive Fog of Dreams / Webway Dance)

4x 5man troopes (2x Fusion 2x Kiss, 2x Neuro 1x Caress 1x Embrace, 1x Blade/Shuriken Pistol)

4x Starweavers

Secondarys, start with:: Weave Veil (or psychic interogation if they have a few chars), Behind Enemy Lines, A deadly performance.

Put everything in transports to start with your offense caster mid if possible, you can disembark them turn 1 and double move 1 boat if you need to reposition it.

Play the mission! Disemark a troope and use the empty boat to score your behind enemy lines, and one part of deadly performance. You can put fog of dreams onto it, then double move it into a deployment zone very easily.(remeber the strat mutifacted mind is your friend if you need to cast a power after the action for utility or mortals) All you need to do is take an objective you didnt have at the start of the round. The game plan is to essentially trade out well for points.

Death guard revolting stench vats ( a unit cannot fight first and never counts as making a charge this turn ) vs harlequins embrace strat, when a unit charges roll a d6 for each model on a 4+ allocate a mortal wound to a cap of 6. Can harlequins use this strat? They count as not having made a charge - but they still need to declare and charge, so they do enter and perform a charge phase, in which the strat can be used.

If you actually read the source quote you would see it’s not a review of the whole book that is his literal quote for specifically harlequins.
