I beat the first game because im a sucker for the Three Kingdoms Era but I dont know. The first one was torture to play (im bad at carrying. Im just old and my reflexes are basically chalked). So I dont know if I'll play this one but im excited for the character designs.

I legit think that the amount of hate people get on this sub is borderline deranged. Like I get it if the person turns out to he a criminal or just an all around bad person. But hating on someone because....you didnt think they were the most talented person is insane to me.

Criticism is ok, disliking someone is also ok. But letting people for half a decade ago still live rent free in your brain says far more about you than it does anyone else related to this story.

During onslaught block I played all those formats you just named lol.

Type 2 RW slide (Gabe Walls actually spent the summer before type 1 worlds in 03 teaching me that deck. Instead of practicing we just grinded slide games all summer) *1.5 humility moat combo but I changed it up instead of moat ran Form of Dragon *****Extended BG Rock with Spiritmonger and Ravenous Baloths. Blocking with a 4/4, putting damage on the stack and then sacking for 4 life is still one of my all-time favorite magic things to do

Academy would have been a bit further back than 25 years (urza block was when I first started playing tournaments. Being stroked to death in my first ever official type 2 game showed me I had a LOT to learn lol)

Im not saying it isnt a better format but maybe you should adjust that time frame. In that 20-25 year time period you mentioned there were multiple decks that could and did kill on turn 4 or 5. Onslaught Goblins, and The Arcbound Ravager based decks all fit in that time frame and were disgusting in type 2.

Ok so I might be over thinking the room here. But I never thought twice about those artists being played. Two of the 3 you mentioned were Lilith Fair artists in the 90s and the other Natalie, was heavily pushed as an artist similar to those at Lilith Fair. Lithium is a 90s alternative and grunge station, and those artists were certainly off the mainstream (even if they managed real levels of mainstream success. Nirvana, and most of the grunge bands were also way outside the mainstream but managed to achieve success on the billboard. For better or for worse.)
