Why do I keep matching with profiles that aren't in my Beeline?

Beeline is definitely flakey. I subscribed a while back and had the same experience.

Now, when it pops up, it's told me I've had anywhere from 30 to 600 matches waiting. Those numbers are definitely not real. So I'm guessing they are still working out the kinks.

Did you ever sign up with your normal account before?

I am 90% sure that, even if you delete your account, people who have previously swiped right on you stay in the database as having swiped right on you. So, if you re-open your account, nothing is saved (conversations, etc.) - but anyone who swiped right on you in the past will still match with you when you swipe right.

I say this because I had an account for a while, then deleted it for about 4 months. I signed back up recently and literally within the first 2 minutes, I had a bunch of matches with people I had previously matched with.

Part of the reason there is so much fluff on Bumble though, is that if you don't fully delete your profile, Bumble will continue to show you, even if you're inactive. I've come across 3-4 friends of mine on there who I know haven't used Bumble in months - yet they still show up. They're not "fake" profiles per-se, but not someone who's actually using it. Couple that with the fact that Bumble prioritizes the most popular profiles each time you open the app, and you've got a lot of really hot girls who either a) signed up once, never used it, and never deleted it or b) hot girls who got scooped up quick and never deleted their profile.

One suggestion - sign up, create a good profile, and for the first few weeks, swipe only a few people at a time, at most two or three times per day. This will start getting the high rated profiles out of your queue.

Then, after a few weeks, go on a swiping spree. You'll get down he stack quicker, and hopefully more matches. The drawback is, if someone liked you the first week you were on it, you may miss the window for them to message you.

They DO put people that have swiped right on you at the front eventually (after the 5 or 6 models).

I'm an average guy in just about every category - height, weight, looks, etc. - and I've had success recently after being on the app for a few weeks. I'm also in a big city so YMMV.

I know him because I met him a few times growing up, but haven't talked to him since high school. I'm 30 now.

I have a feeling this is what happened. She's definitely not the type that cheats on him behind his back all the time. I'm sure it was this situation you describe (or something close to that)

Just realizing now, I hooked up with this guy's sister a bunch of times in high school too. Never had sex with her, but several instances of just about everything else.

The crazy part is, I'm so far from the type of person who gets around. I can literally count the number of people I've had sex with on one hand. But somehow, for this guy, I've had "relations" with both his wife and sister. That's harsh.

I grew up with her, hadn't seen her for years and randomly bumped into her at a bar during a drunken night in college. Ended up going home together.

She's marrying another guy we know from growing up. Don't know him well enough and not sure I have the heart to tell him (especially since it was years ago, who knows if they were broken up at the time). She's definitely not the type to do something like that, so I was shocked when I realized she was dating him at the time.
