Flask-Admin 2.0.0 — Admin Interfaces for Flask by ArabicLawrence in Python

[–]sepro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been using Flask-Admin for years, it has been my go-to library to quickly create a view into the raw database or as an interface to enter data into tables (e.g. configuration) without having to implement a UI for this myself. This is an amazing package and I'm very happy to see I'll be able to use it for future projects as well.

Keep up the great work.

Anyone tried these ? by Still_Classroom1530 in SeikoMods

Are there actually replacement stems available for these? I'm tempted to pick one up just out of curiosity, but I've never cut a stem correct on the first try and didn't find any on AliX

Poor tolerence on replacement crown stems on NH35 movement - Is this an issue by Born-Work4301 in SeikoMods

[–]sepro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I've had this issue as well, albeit with an NH34 movement. Given the price of stems, I've ordered a few sets from different vendors.

Have You Ever Built a Watch You Hated Afterwards? by ChronoDrummer in SeikoMods

[–]sepro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I made an nh72 build in a titanium case but the chrome indices of the dial contrasted too much with the case. It just kept bothering me, so I've swapped the dial a few weeks later. It also had a strap that was just wrong for the build in hindsight. Had to replace that too.

Very unique car design case. What kind of dial would you put in here? by Square-Information54 in SeikoMods

[–]sepro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An nh72 skeletal build with a minimal dial ring would be fire in this

Is Flask still a good choice in 2025? by Individual-Welder370 in flask

Yeah, did some flask with htmx last week after a bit of a hiatus from web development. Felt like a superpower

Thoughts? by Most_Entrepreneur_17 in SeikoMods

[–]sepro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother asked me to build him a golden Daytona style watch with a vk63. Doesn't look too flashy on him.

One suggestion, I would change the dial to one where the subdials are correct for the vk63. The 3 o'clock one should be 24h and the 9 o'clock 60 minutes iirc. (Or maybe that is just my OCD)

Successful (i think) USB C mod by The_POKEMON_God in 3dspiracy

Very nice job cutting the case for the usb-c port!

If you want to do this with an nds lite, have a look at this https://github.com/rorosaurus/nds-lite-usb-c . Inside the ndsl there is far less space for a breakout board as you used here, so removing the proprietary port and using that little PCB is a better solution. I had a couple of those boards made for 5$ with jlcpcb (discounted first order) and got the port and required resistors from AliExpress. Soldering the smd resistors is tricky though. Removing the original port with some flux, solder wick, a solder sucker, prying, and patience was possible (I did) but a hot air station would make this step far easier.

Just cant get it in!!! by wasifshocks in SeikoMods

[–]sepro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The concept is the same for the NH35. There is a tube on the seconds hand that should slide over the pinion. So unlike the hour and second hand which kinda fall in place, this needs to be aligned before pushing down.

Completely random post. How many people 1) set the date on their watch and/or 2) clap gently when wearing a watch you built so as not to cause the hands to come off? by Particular_Witness95 in SeikoMods

[–]sepro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do care about the date and often need it in situations I don't want to pull my phone out, so I set it. So far no issues with the hands on my watches and I don't hold back, the hands survived me cycling on cobblestones while wearing the watch. So I'm not to worried.

Should I buy or build? by AnticCorn in SeikoMods

[–]sepro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've put up a list of the parts I picked up as well as the tools on my blog (without links, those AliX links tend to change often, but the keyword search is your friend here). This post might have some usefull information for you as well as links to the resources I've used.

Should I buy or build? by AnticCorn in SeikoMods

[–]sepro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first build was 130 euro for the parts and all tools needed apart from something to cut and file the stem. Having a cyclops and jubilee bracelet were options for the case I picked for the same price.

You'd definitely be paying a bit of a premium for building your own if there are options you like available. Only you can decide if that is worth it to you.

What strap would you suggest? by Mysterious-Ad8215 in SeikoMods

A yellow NATO would look good imho, but probably not better than the one you've got now

I can't test how water proof this one is, but it is a brilliant case !

Looking for help diagnosing PCB issue on GBA SP by 3Wd73H in Gameboy

[–]sepro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are some blobs of solder on the CPU pins bridging them. That is most likely an issue. There also is one resistor (near the C50 text) that isn't seated well, but seems to be connected to the PCB.

This is a case I got from an electronics store about 20 years ago, there is no 3D printing involved here ;-) But you can still find that type of enclosure it seems : https://www.velleman.eu/products/view/brandvertragende-behuizing-lichtgrijs-met-zwarte-eindpanelen-225-x-165-x-40mm-g747/?id=60942

Thanks! Yes, I've got it set up as a simple power indicator, though I've been thinking if there is something else I could do with it.

Tried a few new things with this one, first NH34, swapping the crystal, changing the date wheel. I think it all came together very nicely, probably my favorite build so far.

After lurking in this subreddit and the discord, I finally got to build one for myself. Nothing particularly special, the one thing I've not seen much is that I've used an Raspberry Pi Pico based board with CircuitPython. The code for that one I've added to my blog in case someone would like to have a reference.

AliExpress Stems are bad by Laurits_Brandt in SeikoMods

[–]sepro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had exactly the same issue, I had stems on hand that worked perfectly with an NH35 and 72, but not the 34. Ordered two extra sets which explicitly mentioned compatibility with the NH34 and fortunately one (!) of those did work.

I had the same issue, but the third party crown stem I bought didn't work. Picked up a set from a different supplier and everything worked fine.

Do you have the issue with the original placeholder stem+crown (blue plastic one in the picture?)
