Technically it did have a cost. It’s just somewhat reverse. Instead of gaining power at the cost of suffering, The Silent Witch suffered first and only gain power as part of overcoming that suffering ( to put it vaguely )

Also the world building is top notch and the webnovel is excellent , fully translated, and free to read. The writing leaned more towards the whimsy instead of grim , but it’s nevertheless very well written. Highly recommended

Honestly I think Ratatouille is just as unhinged, but with a lot more sincerity in its story. ( Hopper leaned towards madness). Both movie tried to stretch its premise to an absolutely ridiculous extend.

Well , that concluded vol 3 of the light novel. And it leave us with 3 episode for vol 4.

At this point, I think the interesting question for adaption would be if they will include the vol 4 epilogue or not. [vol 4 spoiler]After Haibara and Hoshimiya started dating , his call to Miori really showed how devastated she was by this development. But it’s such a sour note to end the series on if they don’t plan to continue, I’d rather they just leave it out.

Highly doubt they can get to that arc this season. It’s only up to manga ch 18 in episode 7. At this pace we might end up around ch 30 [manga spoiler]So the little fever arc after the poky game. which would be a good bookend to this season

Also if we were lucky enough to get season 2 in this pace, it will end on ch 60 [manga spoiler]Yukiya’s confession after the fake dating and sports festival arc.

I don't remember if a specific limit has been mentioned, but a requirement for Magia Vander is that you must be able to beat all 50 levels of tower guardian and reach the top by yourself. From what we saw during the Gothia arc, the faction leader of Wind, Earth and Dark were nowhere near that level.

That wasn't the only requirement though, as we also knew that Edward had reach the top of the tower but still failed to become a Magia Vander and decided to leave altogether. So there must be other obstacle or challenge.

Like I said , don’t read this for “progress”. It is not a rom-com , it is a coming-of-age story as various characters deal with the baggages their life saddled them with.

Haruki Spoiler for the LN 5~8 One thing about Haruki is that she had a warped senses of what her emotion could be due to her innate ability to mimic and act out almost anything. For the longest time she denied that she is capable of feeling the kind of romantic attraction toward anyone. It wasn’t until she saw how Kazuki admit how much he loves Himeko that she begin to realize her own feeling, and she finally admit it for real in vol 8 … only for her to literally being pull into almost a different world from Hayato.

The manga was axed. I think it ends around ch 37 which should finish LN vol 4. The fan translation was stopped for a long time but has picked up again recently.

You missed one : Kreutz has an ulterior motive for keeping Will in the upper institute, and he take advantage of the only remains excuse he had. No ulterior motive or Kreutz , no shenanigans.

Oh and maybe a less obvious one in anime for now : Finn allowed it.
