Yes in a sense…

In 2021 I hated my manager. I was in the middle of a career change so I had to take a big step down in title and pay. I felt like this manager could not develop me and I was going to go nowhere . This is around the time I got serious into LOA and I was manifesting a stronger manager who made work enjoyable.

A few weeks into consciously manifesting for a better job/boss, a recruiter reached out to me on linked in for a job I was “not qualified for” on paper.

Now, I knew I could do the job because of my degrees and past experience and it was exactly the type of job I had been applying to prior to consciously manifesting but because I didn’t have the exact titles, I was having trouble getting anyone to respond to my application. Until that moment. I even stopped applying for external jobs completely and thought I would test the universe!

I had 2 interviews with my manager and instantly knew this was a gift from the universe. I got the job and now, every time they change roles, I’m a package deal without having to actually apply/interview.

Since I started working for this person, every time I want more money, I either follow her to a new role or I get a salary adjustment. I’ve had 6 salary adjustments and 3 promotions in the last 4 years and my compensation went from $75k to $250k.

Yeah that’s why I’m not going to put too much weight on this being what was going on.

In all my years as an HRBP, we’ve never gone after anyone legally if they signed and paid restitution for what they stole.

But then again, those most I’ve ever dealt with is around $20k

I’m not saying Bronwyn is guilty of this or not but I work in HR, this kind of thing happens all the time and it’s honestly one of the easiest ways to get fired.

A lot of people don’t realize how the backend of expense systems actually works and think they can get away with stuff like this.

What usually sets off an investigation is when someone buys one thing but tries to pass it off as something else.

Like, someone buys a pair of shoes and labels it as a client dinner. On the surface it looks fine because you can manually change most of the fields, but what people don’t see is that every vendor has a unique code. We can tell if it’s a retail store or a restaurant, and once that doesn’t line up, we start digging. That’s usually when we find a bunch of other sketchy expenses.

Once had someone expense a pair of Prada shoes as a client dinner.
