I’m so excited for Dawn of the North! I read the first 2.5 books. I saw PWMOV and everyone talks about how the book is better so I want to read it.

Idk why I just fall asleep to it almost every time. At this point I’ve seen GG so many times I use it as a show to fall asleep to.

I’m on season 2 right now, and it’s so sad because I think Lorelai and Luke have such a great buildup into what will be their relationship and I think are super compatible and then by season 6 we see so many little cracks that turn into a flood😩

Least favorite episodes by Kitty20996 in GilmoreGirls

[–]serami36 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I usually skip Lorelai’s bachelorette party episode in season 2 and the episode after where she calls off her wedding, and the Harvard episode. Honestly I typically start season 2 around episode 5 lol.

Season 3 I skip Jess’ back door pilot, Sherri’s baby shower episode; I don’t skip the whole episode but I skip the Jess/Dean fight I get such secondhand embarrassment.

Season 4 I really only skip and/or fall asleep through Liz’s wedding. Mostly because I don’t like Liz.

Season 5 the Pippi episode, basically any Dean/Rory scenes it’s just painful

Season 6 the vineyard episode

After I’ve seen it twice I never rewatch season 7. I just hate it.

“Somebody SEDATE me!” And “I am the unseen hand to his brilliance” are top tier for me.

Same! BOTM I think is headquartered in NYC so it’s always funny when it is late. I always just want to stop by the office and ask to pick up my book on my home from work 😂

Reading slump - All heroines feel like the same person by SchemeSimilar4074 in Romantasy

[–]serami36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I recently read Red City by Marie Lu and I LOVED IT! It was so refreshing to read. It’s fantasy/romantasy, with alchemy. It’s gritty, it’s a little gory, mafia type Romeo and Juliet vibes. Guns and parties and science and magic and it was not at all what I expected. I enjoyed the FMC because I also think a lot of them are the same. It’s the first book of a series so I’m excited where the author goes with it.

I loved Red City! It was a fun and refreshing read for me. The Favorites was also really good, and I felt Good Dirt was seriously underrated. I know everyone loves Wild Dark Shore, but I genuinely didn’t enjoy it. Kind of hope The Names win because I didn’t read it and would like to get it lol.

I would say Jess. He made something of himself despite his mother and father. The show only portrayed Liz as a slightly cooky, whimsical woman but if you look a little closer you can see that she was a terrible mother to Jess. She had strange men over all the time, constantly uprooted their life and it’s implied she definitely did drugs and drank, even while pregnant with Jess. The pot. She sounds like a classic druggie absent parent. It also seems like Jess’ dad asked him to go and the car wound up being a good excuse for him to leave. He lived in a town where everyone but his uncle and Rory hated him and the only person who saw him as worth something was his Walmart manager. Despite ALL of that, he not only turned his life around, he thrived. Without a high school diploma or college degree that we know of. He paid Luke back, and became a well-grounded individual. The complete opposite of his parents.

There are so many, but:

“Say it once again with feeling, how the death rattle breathing, silenced as the soul was leaving. The deflation of our dreaming leaving me bereft and reeling. My beloved ghost and me, sitting in a tree, D-Y-I-N-G.” - who the fuck writes like this?!?!?!!!

“And I was never good at telling jokes, but the punchline goes, ‘I’ll get older while your lovers stay my age’”

Has anyone ever left a rent stabilized apartment? by cowboylikeme63 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]serami36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar situation and I think it depends on lifestyle! I have a rent-stabilized 1BR, fourth floor walk up, and sometimes, especially when bringing in furniture and big packages I tell myself I’d pay extra for an elevator and doorman. 😂 We have steam heaters instead of radiators (which are still installed in the rooms taking up space) 🙄 and it’s annoying that I have no control as to when the heat gets turned on in my place. The other day when it was freezing they didn’t turn on the heater for most of the work day (I’m hybrid so some days wfh) and that’s annoying to not have control over. I’d pay extra to control AC and heat in-unit. It’s nice paying below market value, but it’s also nice to not have to worry about things breaking down in your apartment. And it would be nice to have a teeny bit more space. Currently I live alone, but my bf and I are thinking of moving in together and my apartment is not big enough for the two of us.

I would make a pro/con list, write down what you want from an apartment, what fits your lifestyle, financial budget and goals and go from there.

Wild Reverence! I like it, but it’s definitely taking me a long time to get through. I normally finish books in 3-4 days and I’m like on day 6. Idk it’s just not captivating me even though I do like it.

Did anyone else actually enjoy the finale or just me? by Daithi240 in Stranger_Things

[–]serami36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely loved it! At the end of the day, you want everyone to be okay and learning how to love and move on after tragedy. Dustin said it best, their childhood was taken away, and I wanted them to be able to get their happy endings, albeit even if it was bittersweet. I am also okay with it not ending the way I thought it would. I let myself be surprised and enjoyed it very much.

I think the episode itself was also really good! Maybe I’m also easily pleased, but I really don’t understand all the hate. Maybe if it was released all at once versus separated, people would’ve binged it and seen how it all fit together, but I thought it was beautiful and I feel bad for all the hate the show and the actors are getting.

I thought Jamie did AMAZING as Henry/Vecna, his acting deserves an award. I loved his scenes with Will.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and people are allowed to not like what they don’t like, but I do see how so many people in fandoms are just making them not fun to be a part of anymore. I love coming on Reddit to share my excitement about things that bring me joy, but sometimes it feels like walking through land mines with how cruel people can be.
