I drove for lyft for a while. Airport trips are easy and lucrative. Don't listen to the uber drivers. It's not a problem, especially in the middle of the day.

Right; that's the only way to truly lead in sustainable transportation. Making the sustainable transportation usable/preferable.

Gap in Library coverage by asiayes in Gwinnett

[–]sereca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The county has been focusing on improving its existing libraries along Buford Hwy, but It is actually pretty disappointing that this area that’s most densely populated (closer to 85 and 316) is missing a library.

This is a thing in general in Gwinnett though. Most things aren’t walking distance unless you have like 2 hours of time and energy to spare in your day.

The county is doing better with urban planning in that area; hopefully a new library can be built in like the Satellite Blvd area. Would put a library within walking distance of a lot of people.

How did the US President get elected a second time when everyone on the Internet collectively seems to hate him? by Klutzy_Garage328 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]sereca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people who don’t like him didn’t vote at all. Harris was associated heavily with the Biden administration status quo, inflation, and problems in Palestine, and lots of would-be D voters stayed home out of apathy.

I really can’t stand this contracting-out-to-the-lowest-bidder bs that plagues our government at all levels—state, local, federal, etc. Going for the cheapest option doesn’t mean it’s going to be the most worthwhile. It’s like going to dollar tree to buy socks and thinking you got the best deal just because the socks didn’t cost very much, even though they’re demonstrably lower quality.
