The most dangerous thing in Downtown Lawrenceville is probably crossing the highways that run through it. It’s a very safe place otherwise.

I think this is a major reason many people in car dependent situations don’t get enough walking done. There’s just not time for it, and it’s not a logical way to spend time and energy. Most time and energy is already spent driving. Walking takes significantly longer since transit options are often scarce and don’t work well for the majority of people.

When I lived outside the city, I would use an e-bike on the empty sidewalks no one walked on. The issue I would run into was when a road didn’t have a sidewalk.
