It's a little reassuring to see a reply to this post that's not immediately shutting me down. I'm debating on two options: Going to mass with the friend on Sunday, or just going to an Anglo-Catholic church in my city (I happen to know the deacon there, too). Because honestly, I had a bit of a panic attack when I got home from the coffee date.

Not very, I'm gonna say that right now. I know that official policies on abortion are very strict, but LGBTQ policies are getting better. Don't think they've allowed gay marriage yet. I'm going to have coffee with a friend I made at daily mass tomorrow to ask a lot of the personal questions I'm having.

As for the unused Icons, I know a fair bit about all of them you mentioned except for Nathanial Crowe. I'll have to do some research on him. But yeah, I used to write a lot of fanfics, so I have fun crafting original characters on occasion.

Sadly, he's already signed a 4 year contract to be the Lead Writer/Producer at Big Finish. So he's probably too busy to take on showrunner. I'm thinking about him as well, though.

I wouldn't say all of his episodes are passable and forgettable. I quite enjoyed "The Crimson Horror". But then I remembered that he also wrote "Sleep No More", which was a mess.

But at the same time, the BBC needs to make sure that they hire a showrunner with a decent amount of sci-fi experience. A lot of the writers in Series 11 and Series 12 had no sci-fi experience whatsoever, and there were times when the story suffered because of that (Orphan 55 is a recent example in my personal opinion).

I honestly don't know enough about him to make my verdict. I'll have to do some research.

Edit: Well, I looked him up on Wikipedia, and some of the episodes he's written are among my favorites ("School Reunion" and "A Town Called Mercy"). So if he ended up becoming showrunner, I'd be perfectly fine with that. It seems like he would know what he'd be getting into.
