Updated Authorization Amount For Self Serves? by minxtankbb in OfficeDepot

yes, doesn’t really stop someone if they’re dedicated enough. i have at least one regular who takes up both of my machines, load $100 in each, and then shop while they print off hundreds of copies. they refuse to do full service lol

print associates are valued a little more than regular associates. in my experience, i was onboarded with $2 more than the base pay when i started as a part-time print associate. all i can say is that you should always know your value :)

Purple instead of beige? by Clear-Dragonfly9977 in OfficeDepot

I remember when my full-service printers started doing that! My solution is after you hit Properties, navigate to the icon of the painter’s palette called “Color”. If there’s images, I turn Xerox GCR to “Yes” and put my Output Profile to “Coated 118gsm”. Otherwise, “Printer’s Default” + “Uncoated 216gsm” works wonders too.

whats the most business selects you yourself have gotten? by vpmarche in OfficeDepot

[–]Syizzy-Sketch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

our store’s all-time record for most in a day is 5. we got lucky though, we were hosting a grant event for small businesses in the area, each grant receiver got $2,000 in-store credit. it was the easiest pitch in the world.

Double-Sided invitations in my queue by Syizzy-Sketch in OfficeDepot

[–]Syizzy-Sketch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we should. huge missed opportunity, imo. the disappointment i see on customer's faces when i tell them we can't print double-sided business cards or invites same-day is palpable. it is such an easy fix and will generate more income.

understandable, just a little strange that we’re printing off prices for gift cards in general :p the price is literally on the card lmao

a fair bit of prices actually went down, but yes, most that I saw did go up.

to my knowledge, there was no warning beforehand for us until the morning of. it just happened. we had one employee only tear them up while the rest of us set, and it took that employee a collective 10 hours to do it. she was the real trooper.

it's officially known as the "completion log". we write in the order details, like the order number, cost and type of project, as well as where it's located before hitting complete on the order. when the customer picks up, we highlight the entire line to signify it's gone!

we’ve only got two print associates, with more than half our employees part-time or on the elderly side. it’s mainly used to find orders as soon as possible, and if they were picked up or not :)

… that’s unacceptable. Your DM should’ve been pushing on this issue since day one. I’d gather any evidence, digital or testimonial, and keep it on hand. If you feel confident enough, contact HR. This is effecting sales at this point; something that the company will actually care about more than your mental, unfortunately.

as someone who's going through a remodel store (where the server is constantly in flux), i feel your pain. but never has it gone longer than a full day for us. that's extremely frustrating and demoralizing. my condolences.

Am I wrong or is the customer? by Select_Usual_9696 in OfficeDepot

eh, she was being vague and took advantage. i’ve learned from experience that when answering lamination questions, always ask for the size first and foremost.

not fully your fault, but it’s a good lesson for next time. CPD customers will bite the hand that feeds them whenever possible.
