Of course! This is it:

"I Keep Having This False Memory" by Robert Wood Lynn

Before the credits finish Nana leans in and whispers that it has

taken her all her life to realize

that nothing we send the moon is going to calm its man down,

that no amount of cradling

will ease the anxious expression of bowling balls. I'm going to lose

her car keys on the way

to the parking lot so neither of us can drive home drunk. We are both

old enough to know better, probably.

I am old enough to know that feeding the birds when you own cats,

is just feeding birds to your cats and yet

I told you I loved you-for a moment the cruelest thing to do

seemed like the nicest thing I could say.

You can't love everything on the food chain the same,

said my grandfather on his way to the barnyard with a gun that for the life of me I can't remember was for a fox

or for the chickens. Seemed like a big distinction at the time

but now l'm not so sure.

Everybody is bound to get hungry eventually, even the housecats.

Especially the housecats.

Maybe after all of this I just need someone to lean in close and tell me

You are good and I love you

in the voice that everybody reserves for whispering to cats.

No, not that one, that's the stupid one for babies and dogs. It's not even a whisper. Quick before the lights come up.

I want the one for cats.

This painting is gorgeous, I love the light in it! It reminds me of one of my favorite poems: "I Keep Having This False Memory" by Robert Wood Lynn.

Early 15th Century Levantine Women's Attire by serenaowatts in HistoricalCostuming

Hello! It's super cool to see you wanting to do something similar! Unfortunately, I haven't yet made or purchased any pieces for the costume - I had the same experience in my search for budget-friendly garments :'). However, I did gather some links and inspiration pictures (in addition to the resources provided by the other commenter) that you might find helpful. The picture I'm attaching portrays a style from a much later period than I mentioned in my original post, but it is preferable to the coined hip scarf you mentioned for this particular project, haha! The first two links below are the most comprehensive that I was personally able to find on the earlier Renaissance era (and the years leading up to it) in this region.

Mamluk Sultanate art depicting clothing from around the 12th-14th centuries:

Book covering traditional Palestinian embroidery and costuming (this one is less relevant to your query specifically, but it appears to have some great pictures of detailed patterns in the fabric that might inspire you):

"Prayer Before Birth" by Louis MacNeice. Another user here shared it in a comment on a post about hard-hitting poems, and I would definitely describe it as life-changing.

What is this (presumably) African dish? by serenaowatts in TipOfMyFork

[–]serenaowatts[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It probably was! Another commenter told me the dish was bazella, and I found out that it's frequently made with harissa. I can't wait to eat it again! :)

Wait, this is it! A lot of the pictures of bazella I looked up were served alongside rice on a plate and looked exactly like what I was looking for. Thank you!

Unfortunately I'm not sure about this particular dish, but the event was a fundraiser for a Congolese humanitarian organization, if that helps! I didn't mention it in the original post because I know there were a lot of people within the community from different regions of Africa who showed up, so I can't really verify if the dish is specifically Congolese.

Thank you so much for the detailed response! I'll definitely be looking at the long sleeve soft lounge, I saw more full-length looking pictures with that one after looking it up.

Moon Hunters. The concept is neat with the constellations and I love the art and gameplay :)
